The dock at the bottom of the screen is quite solid and makes the screen end abruptly. I am looking for a way to smooth it all together. Is there a way of doing that on the ios7?

I totally agree, but there is no way to change it. Hopefully they'll provide an opacity slider in a future update, but
I wouldn't hold your breath. Apple do what they like these days
