I noticed that iPhone 5s Model A1533 is available for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. Does that mean I can buy unlocked A1533 and use it on Verizon network in USA and use it as GSM phone overseas?

I finally got the answer.... the new iPhone 5s A1533 can support both Verizon and AT&T. Apple was able to pack both CDMA, GSM and all the LTE bands Verizon and AT&T support. If you buy your iPhone from Verizon or AT&T you will be getting the same exact phone (model A1533).

Here's the difference..

If you buy your phone from Verizon and decide to put in a AT&T SIM card it'll work no problem. But if you have an iPhone you bought from AT&T and try to activate it on the Verizon network, Verizon will check the phone and if it's not registard with them as Verizon phone (they have a list) they will refuse to activate it on their network.

If your buying off contract at full retial and want the option to use either the Verizon or AT&T network buy the Verizon branded iPhone. This will give you flixability to use mutipale carries in the future.

Actually, the Verizon 5s works on AT&T's LTE network as an LTE phone. This has been my personal experience. In fact, Chinese students who return to China after completing their degrees in the US take back a Verizon iPhone.

LTE is based on the GSM standard, not on CDMA technology. All Verizon LTE phones necessarily have a SIM card slot, with a Verizon SIM card installed for LTE data.

The LTE bands for Model 1533 (US iPhone 5s) are available at http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/.

Apple Sales guys on apple helpline had no clue.. with IPhone 5 A1429, neither apple or verizon officially announced that it was unlocked and I used it with Verizon and other global networks in Europe and Asia. Someone will have to tinker with the Verizon/ AT&T A1533 to find out if its unlocked just like iPhone 5 coz' they won't ever announce it because all major networks are competing for sales.

What my understand is : A1533 designed for ATT-Tmobile-Verizon. But if you purchased ATT or Tmobile A1533 is not working on Verizon network (Verizon using CDMA network) but in reverse Verizon A1533 will work on ATT or Tmobile network ! Apple designed Verizon iphone can be work on both networks (CDMA or GSM). Again, in reverved ... they design ATT or Tmobile work only in GSM network. So if you want to use both networks ...prefer to purchase Verizon one. As long as in USA ...I know the fact is LTE will work & perform well on both networks (CDMA or GSM) - (on Verizon Iphone 5S) ... I have no proof in reverse. Good luck.
