Connecting Apple TV to old flatscreen

Hi - have just acquired an Apple tv box on test. My old flatscreen tv doesn't have an HDMI socket. How can I connect the Apple TV? Will it go via the Humax box or an active converter to scart/vga (I suspect not at one is digital and one analogue)?

Or do I just shut up and buy a new TV?
