ios 7 download asking for itunes update

I am trying to update my iPhone 5 and 4S to IOS7, both having been backed-up and apps updated. But when I click on check update, it says the following

A new iPhone software version (7.0) is available, but requires iTunes 11.0.5. Would you like to download iTunes 11.0.5 now?

But my iTunes is already 11.0.5. When I click on Download iTunes, it takes me to App Store but with nothing to update. I have restarted iTunes and both phones but with the same results.

I would like to avoid updating over the air if possible.

interesting, I had to log out from the download screen and that refreshed the link to 11.1. Dunno why.. musta cleared a cookie.

In 30 years I have never seen such a poorly planned, poorly supported, release from Apple other than that period in the early 90s when Mr. Jobs was with NeXt.

I had the same problem with FireFox on OS X MT. Had to use Safari to get to the iTunes 11.1 download page. FireFox just took me to the 11.0.5 download page and it wouldn't download. Good luck.

thanks for the tip! sifari had the right page. hopefully that fixes the issue. i'm having the same problem as everyone else. a bit frustrating. feels like apple rushed themselves. if everyone on facebook wasn't gloating so much about the new ios 7, i probably wouldn't be in such a rush myself.

The opposite for me (Safari was showing 11.0.5 while FireFox showed 11.1) — how absolutely bizarre.

Atualization fail and freeze iphone

I try to make a upgrade by air, but after the download of the new IOS7 the disaster.

My iphone 5 64G stop to working. When I turn on the phone I saw the icon to connect to the iTunes. When I do that they try to make a restauration but stop with an erro -1. It's dosen't work. My phone is freeze.

Apple made a very bad work with this upgrade. The company is not the same as the Jobs era.

I think it's time to migrate to other company. I start to hate Apple.

It's a great disrespect to user.

I am experiencing the exact same problem on two computers.

Windows 7, 64bit

Windows Vista, 32bit

Both have iTunes v11.0.5.5 and both go into an infinate loop of stating that a new version of iTunes is required before downloading iOS7.

Fortunately, I have the WiFi option and that is what I am using now.

If you are having trouble downloading 11.1 from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and if it's showing 11.0.5

Then go in Private Browsing mode and refresh the page in your browser.

I Have a MacBook air working with leopard instead of Lion OS. How to upgrade to iTune 11.1 if this is not support at leopard?

Finally got going and it is now downloading for my iPhone 5. But man, is it buggy!!

Downloaded iTunes 11.1 from Safari. I guess you will have to try different browsers. It took about half an hour. After installing, I checked the About page and guess what, it says 11.0.5. Before I made a move to throw up, I restarted iTunes and then it says 11.1.

I connected my iPhone 5 and it says my software is uptodate (it has been saying that on the phone's Software Update screen all this while, so I can't update over the air even if I wanted to). I disconnected the iPhone and reconnected. Then, it asked to update the software. So, here I am now still waiting for the download. It was '31 minutes remaining' half hour ago. Maybe I can go catch the Jobs movie while waiting.

My iPhone 4S updated all by itself over-the-air without asking me. It looks good, but sadly, no iTunes radio outside US.

Got my iPhone 5 updated - download completed faster than expected. Can't find the Jobs movie on iTunes anyway.

It all looks good except my orderly 12-icons screen arrangement now disrupted and I will have to redo all my folders again.

My to wait for my other half to come home to update another iPhone and iPad.

My problem is that there is an error code with the installation. I can dowload, but cannot install.
