ios 7 can't make outgoing calls

Not an issue with IOS 7. The function to make and receive calls is a carrier feature.

with that said, what did your phone carrier say when you contacted them about your issue?

Are you on Sprint, as they are having problems today.

Even i am not able to make outgoing calls after upgrading to iOS7.

Please help

My 3g is working. Incoming calls are intermittently ok.

Outgoing calls: totally failed

I talked to vodafone. They told me to get new SIM if i am facing this issue.

But i am from telecom background and i know how calls work.

So i know this is not SIM issue.

I cant even call vodafone customer care centre supposed to be free of charge

I have iPhone 5. After updating to iOS 7 about 70% of my outgoing calls on 3G end up with the call hanging with no tone and no way to hang up. The only way to hang up is restarting the phone. No problems with incoming calls so far.

Things I've tried and DO NOT work for me:

- hard restart

- resetting network settings

- restore iPhone as new with iTunes

After I talked to my provider (I'm living in Bulgaria and my provider is a subsidiary of Vodafone) i learned from the guy that this problem was to be resolved with iOS7!!! According to him it is NOT a SIM problem.

For now I use my phone with 3G disabled. No signs of the problem for the moment.

Please help. It is very frustrating to have to swith On 3G each time I need fast internet and swich it Off when I need to make a call. It is absurd, having in mind that I own the so called "Best smartphone" on the market.

What is the point to have a smartphone and not be able to make simple voice calls with it!?

It is sad to say but Apple continues to disapoint its fans.

P.S.: One of my coworkers has the same phone and the same problem after updating to iOS7.

Just dial Write "*#31#".... it worked for me... all the best.

1) I tried to restorre Iphone as NEW. -- > This showed little improvment but still was not able to make all outoging calls & for some calls it gace "Call Failed"

2) Took out the SIM & insert it back again, its working now.

Again it has stopped working. 😟 😢

Dialing "*#31#" seems to fix the problem. At least for now.

I'll keep you posted if outgoing calling fails again.

I also thought that it was poor SIM contact inside the tray.

Guess what... after taking out my SIM and cleaning its surface to remove any suspected oxydation and finger prints the problem was stil there.

So i think it is not related with the "chip".

The "Outgoing call hanging" problem may be related to carier autorizations (I'm not specialist in this) or some other firmware-carier conflict because dialing "*#31#" seems to have solved the problem for me.

Just came back from Apple Service Centre & this is a known Issue/BUG in iOS7. They have kept the iphone for replacement now.

I have noticed this problem in my iPhone 5 updated with iOS 7 since yesterday. I switched to new OS on the night of 18th India Time.

When you dial any number the phone just hangs and nothing happens there is no dialing tone either.

After a long time it says call failed.

If you try to cancel the call..again it stays stuck on trying to cancel the call for equally long time and can't cancel immediately. You move away from dialing screen while canceling ..........and then come back in couple of seconds it mysteriously shows Dialing!!!

During this time the outgoing messages are also stopped.

Although incoming calls and messages are working fine all this time therefore it can't be a carrier (Vodafone) issue.

Switch off and re-start ..... the calling and messaging works fine now!!

But immediately in couple of mins the calling and messaging is again stopped.

So everytime you have to make a call you need to restart.

I tried hard re-setting. It has same effect as normal restarting.

It is definitely an iOS7 bug. Surprisingly Apple have not come out with a fix after nearly 4 days of releasing the software.

Is there a way to restore previous iOS 6?

Same here. The phone was working fine on 6.1.3. Updated to ios 7 and poof! no longer can make calls. If this is a known bug, there's no article anywhere on the web mentioning it. I hope this gets patched.

yes, i tried "*#31#" and now I am able to make outgoing calls thanks a lot.

I also tried "*#31#" and phone seems to be working fine since then.

Another thing that i noticed earlier and perhaps persist still is that when you are on a call and you want to disconnect and if your phone is about to receive several messages or mails then they just keep popping up in foreground and telephone call goes in the background. Now unless you dismiss reading all messages one by one the call screen will not be accessible. Not a bug but its quite irritating.
