Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache. It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off? Do I have to revert to 6?

I was very surprised when my first look at iOS 7 made me nauseous. I suppose it's a testament to the quality of screens now that this can happen even on something as small as an iPhone. Still, it's not an endorsement that I'm happy giving. I'm even less happy to find that there's currently no way to turn it off. I liked much of the rest of what I saw in iOS 7, but that doesn't make up for feeling sick when I try to use my phone.

I've been looking at the framework for a project that's currently Android specific, with an eye to porting it to iOS. It's difficult for me to stomach doing that until this is fixed, so I'm off to shop for something else. Note, Apple, that these animations are costing you money and developer share Right Now. Please provide a way to turn them off. The "reduce motion" button is already there. Just make it more effective.

Well,

Overall ios 7 is growing on me more and more. Besides few ugly icons the ios feels fantastic, once you start to feel layering effect more and more. Very modern. I hated it at first, but besides few annoyances overall feel is fantastic. :)

Love parallax effects, but minimizing/maximizing applications are making me dizzy got sure.

Just make animations faster and smoother.

I agree that there should be an option to disable the animation. Not only would it help with the motion sickness effects, but it would speed up the functionality of the phone. I liken it to making the setting change in Windows to "adjust for best performance." I don't need all the fancy scrolling and animation, I just want it to be fast.

What I've done to minimize the problem:

1. Reduced the brightness

2. Turned on Bold fonts (under accessibility)

3. Moved my commonly used apps out of folders and reduced my number of folders

4. I look away from the screen when I know the zoom transistions are coming.

I figured out the worst animation is the one right after login where the apps fly in in two distinct phases; the middle 4, pause, the remaining 10. This really throws me for a loop.

The biggest problem is that the animations are different depending upon where the app/folder that is being minimized is located, there is no brain anticipation that can help alleviate the problem, it's all "random" movement.

As a 20-year Apple fan, I'd like to write about the new iOS and urge Apple to make it easier for users to tone down the parallax effect. Persons like myself who have balance disorders can't comfortably use the new Home screen any more than we can enjoy simulated rides or watch 3-D movies. Please, Apple, keep this in mind as you work on your next update, and keep up the good work.

"Gratuitous interface changes are interrupting my workflow. Millions of iOS users are conditioned to 'swipe right' to delete something (eg, an email.) For some reason you changed it to 'swipe left', which I found only by doing a Google search. This and other changes have me wondering... why take something that works so well and change it? You didn't make it better, you just made it different."

AMEN! chaning the direction of a swipe isn't better, it is different. And annoying!
