Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

Like I said, I don't doubt that this is a real thing, I just don't think it's that common.  Just because I suggested that SOME of the responses might be plants doesn't necessarily mean I think you are.

There was at least one person on here who had already said that they downgraded back to iOS 6.  That sounds a bit fishy to me, since as far as I know, this was never an option.

Again,  you are being paranoid, your "Apple Fanboy" is clouding your "Occams Razor".  Downgrading was actually suggested "unofficially" by one of the apple support people I talked to.  It was an unofficial option until a few days ago when Apple canceled the certificates for the old binaries making it impossible.

Just how many people do you think are claiming this is affecting them ... there are only a few dozen in this thread.  Out of literally millions of users that's pretty freakin' rare.  It's part of why I'm not holding out much hope for a quick resolution.

Well, i personally have not updated to ios 7 because I think it is ugly, my mother updated her ipad and iphone to the new update and hates it as well. She doesn't even pick up her ipad anymore and only uses her phone if she needs to. (She used to use both regularly). No one I know personally has a nausea issue with the os. At this point there is no way to turn off the animations but maybe apple will release an update in the future because I doubt apple wants its OS associated with making people dizzy or even puking. One thing I can say is if you DO get dizzy, dont use your phone while driving!

If you are referring to my post where I said I downgraded back to 6.1....I DID, but not the way you are thinking. And I posted exactly what I did.  I got SO SICK from the iOS 7 that I went to the Verizon store and bought another iPhone 4s that had the factory installed iOS 6.1.3.  That is what I am using now and I will never upgrade this phone to the iOS 7.  Not until I know for a fact that it stopped causing customers (and myself) to get sick.

Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion - On

Turns off some animation and improves battery life.

Yeah ESPECIALLY if u get dizzy is what I meant. Dont use your phone while driving anyway. (Hard to proofread what I typed on my iphone). Its a hazard either way but people do it anyway. If you get dizzy while driving however, the risk goes up even higher than before that you may get into an accident... I know because I got a migraine once while driving. I had to pull over because I simply could not focus on the road.

    iOS7 = big ****! (On iPad Retina)

    (1) the keyboard and the app are slower.

    (2) face book very slow and unable to copy comments (as with 6).

    (3) application has been updated, at the same time, even ones I didn't do...

    (4) Two day, two BIG BUG, office totally empty and button layout Eve and unusable central, single solution all switch off and on again (lost of work...) and both times it was very very hot.

    (5) And on the walk, there is this **** zoom effect on the desktop for choice app, that makes me turn the head, also I diverts gaze... It is to vomit...

And the effect with double click, it is the same!

    (6) impossible or failure of iTranslate copy...

    Thanks Apple...! :(

Purrsuasive 1: No, I was not referring to you.  I was referring to Immarz, who said he or she "just downgraded" on September 20.  But, the grace period (which was most likely in play at that time) was a good point by Ensorceled.

Please help me understand.  I have both an IPHONE and an IPAD.  What animation are you seeing that  I don't see.  I have been involved developing animated graphics for more than 30 years.  Please enlighten me!!

Been there, done that.  It didn't do didly squat for relieving the vertigo.  So, whatever it is that is causing all these customers to get sick, it's not just the flying animation.  I believe the whole screen is in 3D mode at all times and that is why customers are getting sick.  I am also starting to think it was a business decision on Apples behalf, because now you have thousands (could possibly turn into millions) of customers running to the store to buy new iPhones (ones with the old 6.1 still installed) to get out of this iOS 7.   So, now Apple is getting rich off of their sick customers.  I do believe Apple will eventually fix this, but not until the millions have cleared the bank.

Something else I find annoying is the fact that not only is this causing those that are (presumably) migraine prone, but also I've heard of instances where color blind people cant even see the toggles because the bright colors plus white backgrounds equals not enough contrast. For a company who prides themselves in how accessible their os is even for people with disabilities, they aren't doing a very good job of being accessible. Ok, rant over.

And when I adjust without Visual effects (effect 3D approximately) and tailbay I see no differences!

Once again, to those who are blaming the zoom effect, how is it different from the zoom effect in all the other versions of iOS? It is exactly the same as before, it just zooms from the app. There has to be another cause for the symptom. As for accessibility, you still have all the options for the color blind as you did before.
