Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

Once again, to those who are blaming the zoom effect, how is it different from the zoom effect in all the other versions of iOS? It is exactly the same as before, it just zooms from the app.

That *is* the difference.  The zoom before was 1) fast and 2) predictable.  The new zoom is not as predictable, slower and jerkier.

The other thing that has helped me is thinking about where the zoom is going to come from (making it predictable) or just looking away if I can't remember which icon location it will "shrink" to.

Ditto - I echo your concerns and would like the option to totally eliminate (not just reduce) the animations.  It's a design experience that is overwhelming and over-stimulating.  Hoping Apple makes modifications soon to return to a cleaner/simpler/enjoyable experience more in line with other Apple products.

I just tested the time between an iPad running iOS 6 and the new zoom is only slightly if even noticeable. How does slowness cause vertigo anyway? Second, it always zooms into the app. The is very predictable. The old zoom always just zoomed out from the center, also predictable. I am very confused how you cannot predict where it will zoom from, it always comes into the app you are opening.

It is a 3D effect, finally of icon relative to the background image. Which create a Vertigo effect.

As to walk on a bridge watching at the same time the bridge ground and 20 metres below ground, two soil this move but not at the same speed, creating a Vertigo or I don't know what, but not pleasant...

Ok that would be the parallax effect, not the zooming effect. Apple allows people to turn of parallax, I'm guessing, for this very reason.

Exactly my thoughts too.  Something else is going on.  Possibly there is constant flickering lights going on?  Or the constant 3D motion effect.  Whatever it is, Apple needs to fix the issue completely, or offer the 6.1 again.

Seriously apple turn of the zooming effects! I'm getting dizzy. Also ditch the ugly lime green you use for the Messages and Facetime icons.

What do you mean by 3D motion effect? If you are referring to the parallax effect, it can be turned off. If you are referring to the zoom effect, as I have stated, I do not believe it could be the cause. The zoom effect happened in iOS 6 and before. The only difference is that it zooms into the app instead of from the center.

Did the zoom bother you in iOS 6?

Look, if you haven't felt weird sickness, eye fatigue and headache while using iOS 7 then you're not susceptible to whatever subtleties in the design are causing a growing number of people to feel it.

It's not a spontaneous mass conspiricy to mess with Apple. I have used and loved Apple products for over 23 years. I have to say; It's not helpful to come on here and brow beat and dismiss others who are having a very real reaction to iOS 7.

If you're not experiencing headache and nausea using iOS 7 then consider yourself very lucky. I envy you because not only is it physically near debilitating but there is also an emotional edge to it as well, I found myself sinking into depression everytime I was overcome by iOS 7 nausea.

Furthermore, if physical and emotional effects can be triggered so easily by using these kinds of devices, there is probably a larger conspiracy to be addressing.

EXACTLY! Its not constant any more. It goes all over the screen at different angles and the "immersive" feeling that gives people causes dizzyness in some. I personally have not had a dizzy spell from the OS but i do see where it can come into play as I have suffered from migraines in the past. (I have not had vertigo so dont know what that feels like...)

I am simply trying to find the source of the problem. I am not saying people are not having problems.

Turning off the parallax effect did nothing as far as stopping the dizzyness.  Trust me, I tried EVERYTHING I could to stop feeling sick from the effect of the iOS 7.  I gave up and ran to Verizon last Sat and bought a new iPhone that had the factory installed 6.1.  So, as of now, I am done being sick and waiting for Apple to fix this issue.
