Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

I know it doesn't.  But some people have reported to be sensitive to this and thought it was something in the screen because they feel vibrations from it.

As I said, its a longshot, it may be unrelated. It may very well not be.

Does anyone who is experiencing this problem experience it on an iphone 4? (The iphone 4 doesnt have any parallax effects) if so we can honestly say it definitely is related to the way apps open and close as well as maybe even the color scheme.

Noise Canceling has been in the phone since the iPhone 5 was released, I actually very much appreciate it and have not had a problem with it.

Noise Cancellation has nothing to do with visual motion sickness triggers.

I experienced it with the iPhone 4s.  Does the 4 and the 4s both not have the parallax effect?

The 4s does have the parallax effect. The iphone 4 is the only device that doesnt have the parallax effect.

    4s does, 4 does not.

Another +1 for this. My wife is having this issue on her iPhone 5, my iPhone 4S, and our iPad 3. She also can't watch movies in 3D at the movie theatre for this same reason.

The paralax background animation doesn't seem to bother her.

Hopefully Apple will release an update where the fly out/fly in animations can be turned off.

I'm sorry, but I don't get how this is such a hot topic.  I have had zero such issues and of the many people with whom I've discussed iOS 7, none of them have as well.  I don't doubt that some of these complaints are legitimate (and my apologies to those who are truly suffering) but the fact that this forum has been overwhelmed with such complaints, along with the fact that this has gotten so much press coverage, makes me wonder if some of this hasn't been planted by Apple's competitors.

By Apple's competitors? Is that serious?

If Apple does not do something, I will have to get rid of this phone and get one of "apple's competitors" unfortunately.

Just as a workaround, take a black picture and use it as wallpaper and lock screen, a flat black picture will allow the effect to disappear

    I hope it helps.

No, I've been using Apple since the Apple II. I love Apple. I've worked for Apple developers my entire career. I've ALWAYS recommended Apple. If I didn't care or llike Apple, I'd simply – and silently – just sell my iPhone 5 now and by a phone from another company. I'm also a shareholder, BTW. So please, I'm happy you have no issues with iOS 7, but many of us do and the complaints are entirely legitimate.

NIce, so I suggested the only remedy may be legal and the post was removed. Lovely.

It would be silly for any company to allow it's forums to be used to co-ordinate this type of action.

Think of it this way.  They are reading this thread, that's a hopeful sign :-)

The problem for those suffering is twofold: first, many other people refuse to believe a problem exists; secondly, there's no fix. "We're often contacted by people affected by moving images on screens, but people are affected in different ways — what's a problem for one person may not be for another," explained Natasha Harrington-Benton

It's very interesting to see everyone's comments below. First let me say I am a big apple supporter of had an iPhone for many years. Around two years ago I started getting headaches when using my iPhone a lot, especially when scrolling faster through emails, moving through apps quickly, and using my phone in the dark. To that point, I began seeing a neurologist. It wasn't until a few months ago I really correlated my headaches to my phone use. I headaches went away when I didn't use my phone and came about when I did.

I do think that the zooming in and out of apps is part of this.
