Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

I'd like to also say that I have experienced the same issues being talked about it. Only after about 5 minutes I start feeling extremely nauseous like I am car sick. I thought I was getting the flu, because my friend was sick a few days ago. I started searching and found this forum and was amazed so many others are experiencing the same thing I have been for the past couple of days. Apple needs to fix this, or at least provide the ability to turn it off! Until then I've gone back to my emergency go phone for the meantime. Really considered taking it in but I thought it would be silly to tell them it was making me sick. However, after reading everyone's posts I realize perhaps not.

I would gladly pay to revert to the previous version on my Iphone5.  Ugh!  Definitely not liking Ios7, and an informal survery of 14 people I know who also use it confirms that NONE OF US LIKE IT!  Very hard to read, and I agree that the motion is truly annoying and nauseating.  My phone is new, but it might be time for something else....

Has anyone else gotten diarrhea as a side effect of the motion sickness? My stomach has been upset but my friend said she actually got diarrhea, not sure if it's related or not.

Count me in. It makes me nauseous. I have had to stop using most of the fuctions and just use the phone. Most disabling update ever released. :-(

    http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/09/26/ios-7-motion-sickness/

"It’s all too easy to rubbish the problem, but that would be terribly unfair to folks with certain conditions. There’s no denying that vestibular and neurological conditions are very real.

    Hence, Apple should respond.

    But how?

For starters, Apple could do nothing, which is pretty much what they’ve done thus far. In that regard, a class action lawsuit from disgruntled users could force the company to take action, though Apple has changed a lot since Tim Cook is in charge.

On the other hand, Apple’s dealt with similar issues before by adding Accessibility settings for vision and hearing-impaired users and support for physical and motor devices, as seen below. This gives us reasons to be mildly optimistic that Tim Cook & Co. will double down on iOS Accessibility in terms of motion sickness."

Remember: voicing your experience here is helpful so we all know it isn't just our own isolated experience, but please also report it via Apple feedback: http://www.apple.com/feedback and/or to an email to accessibility@apple.com

It is making me have a headache and anxiety.  I think I am having a nervous breakdown if I look at my phone for more than 10 minutes.  I can't stand this os7 and uploading it is the worst mistake I've made in the last 5 or 6 years.  It is horrible.  The screen is a visual assault on my senses.  I can't stand to look at it and touching the apps with it zooming into my face is awful.  The voice mail is just rediculous... who needs all that.  Just play me the **** message.  The text messaging ***** too.  I can barely get into search on Safari and Map Quest? Really Map quest is coming up .... I thought that went out of style with AOL!

I went to the Apple store for help and got the short neck from the "Genius"... no solution, no going back.  So Verizon is sending me a new old phone to get me thru till I can switch away from Apple.

I am not a negative person and have been a big fan of Apple for years.  But I'm selling my stock after this experience.  I can't believe they think this is good.  If this is "good".... I'd rather use a Motorola phone.

I am a boater and not prone to suffering any type of motion sickness, hoever the Iphone5S has done it to me.  It makes me go cross-eyed when the animations occur and I have to blink once or twice to get my bearings.  I think it was young folks (or old folks with good eyes) that designed this highly dynamic interface.  All the good for them, but PLEASE let us turn it off!  I have already turned on "Reduce Motion" but the icons still swirl around and come from out of focus to in focus.  Hey Apple , can you just please let us turn it ALL off for those of use with poor vision?  I will also look into downgradeing or turning my new 5S it in for a refund. Toooo painful to look at for my eyes.

Yes I have had similar problems - had a severe case of nausea and vomiting. Can you sort this out Apple!

You can pay to have it back.  All you have to do is go to the store and buy an iPhone 5 that has the factory installed version of the  6.1.4 on it.  Just don't get an iPhone 5 C or S.

I can't use my iPadMini without getting headaches. I think it is due to the colors, the motion, the sharp and blurriness in one visual and all the moving bits, such as the flying apps.

The reduce motion helps a little, but still I am incredibly sorry I said ‘okay’ to the update. My iPadMini was my beloved tool for everything: from navigator whilst trekking to movie screen. Now it is just a stupid device that can come handy now and then.

I wish Apple offered the possibility of turning back to iOS 6. But none of the helps desks would help me out. Apparently I’d loose all my personal settings and apps, when downgrading: there seems to be no way back. These client-unfriendly politics amaze me. I thought Apple invented products for people, now it seems to be the other way around.

Hopefully Apple comes with a solution, such as iOS 7 with the looks of iOS 6 or the possibility of changing colors and the other effects into less aggressive visuals.
