Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

... its about time people take resposibility for their own lives... maybe all you vertigo sufferers should of went down and looked at the new ios7 like i did and see it before you blindly download something thats FREE and then complain about it!!! grow up people....stop making excuses for the crap that happens in your life... never in my 48 years of life have i seen such a swing in attitude that individuals are OWED somethng..... gonna go sell my burger king shares now because i dont like the taste of the coffee...cheers

I've never seen such a swing either.  Since when did somebody exercising their FREE SPEECH to criticize a company's change in direction and then exercising their RIGHT as a consumer to threaten to take their business elsewhere or their RIGHT as a shareholder to sell their shares in protest become ENTITLEMENT?

I liked the capitalists and libertarians better when they were saying "cavet emptor" instead of this new thing of claiming that even daring to complain about corporations is demonstrating a "sense of entitlement".

Take your corporate welfare crap somewhere else; billionaires and billion dollar companies don't need you to defend them.

Uh...no. If I didn't want to change my phone, I wouldn't have done the upgrade. I trusted Apple to provide a superior experience (why wouldn't I have?). I'm not thrilled with a number of the design choices here (it seems they went with white backgrounds simply for a change from the previous black backgrounds...not bc white looked better, but bc it wasn't black), but I can live with them, and maybe eventually enjoy them. And I've never posted on Apple's message board until just now. I have better things to do if my complaints are mere quibbles. But to suddenly feel sick - constantly - from my phone? I'm not wedded to this thing, or any device. If I wanted to simply bash Apple, I would have gotten a Samsung or a Motorola rather than an iPhone.

I'm making it up? Really? All of us? Well, I guess the articles in The New York Times, Time magazine, and other sources were created just bc there was no news to report so let's make stupid stuff up?

Apple is not Jesus or the Pope. It's okay FOR YOU to admit they're fallible and errors and oversights occur (remember the launch of maps? that went over a treat). Whether they acknowledge the issue (this thread is already nearly 30 pages) and address it (all I want is to turn off the gimmicks that are causing me the headaches) is another issue. If they don't, I walk. Seems reasonable enough, especially with the abundance of quality the competition is supplying.

Yes they were announced back in June when iOS7 was announced. They have had it on their main page along with the video showing what the new ios was going to look like. Do not even lie and say it was not announced. You are just an uninformed consumer.

OK - point out to me where they announced that the Photo-Map in the Photo App was being withdrawn? Point out to me where they announced that they were removing Wikipedia shortcut on Spotlight? It is you that are uninformed.

They might not be important to you, but these changes are important to me (especially Photo-Map).

If Apple had clearly announced that they were eliminating these features, I woudl not have upgraded.

I made these arguments to Apple Support and after a lot of argument they conceded and have offered to replace my devices with reconditioned units that still have OS613 installed on them. It woudl be a lot simpler if they would just permit downgrade back to 613.

Best to ignore people like that. They just say things to get attention.

Yep I am claiming that because I do not believe it. It is made up. Especially when someone calls them torture devices.

Really. I don't think so. I think you and everyone else claiming nausia is making it up because they want to force apple to change the GUI on the phone.

I like IOS 7 and the GUI.  I like all my Apple products.

However, the people like me who are experiencing nausea-type problems are simply asking for an OPTION to disable the app zooming animation.  A simple change.

I have faith that Apple will release an update that disables this soon.  And I am sure they will acknowledge that the zooming animation can cause genuine issues for some people.

When Apple publicly makes this statement, will all the people calling us "liars" and "complainers" have the decency to apologize to those that they are offending and ridiculing with these accusations??

Since you seem willing to discuss.  Exactly what do you get out of responding this way?  Are you trolling?

I mean, I'm here because I'm really hoping the next set of accessiblity changes include something that makes my nausea go away.   Parallax has a toggle to disable so obviously Apple knows that at least SOME of the iOS7 changes are causing problems.  Why do you think you know this is fake when Apple itself has acknowledged that at least some of this isn't fake?

    What's floating your boat?  Sadism?

Have you seen the new photo app? They don't need a map anymore because you can sort by location now. Second you can just put a shortcut on your homepage of your phone to wikipedia. How hard is that.

Do you have a vestibular disorder? Vertigo? Labyrinthitis? If you knew what any of these illnesses were like and the effect something like iOS 7 can have then you would be quiet.

No apple put the reduce motion in because they knew it was eye candy and would drain the battery if left on constantly.

Amen.  My response was deleted.  Surely this person just wants attention.  They appear to have no direct experience in what we are going thru.

That's why they hid it under accessibility.   You didn't answer any of my questions.

    Sadistic troll it is!
