Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

+1 here.  Have headaches and nausea for past 3 days.

Can't stand to look at my phone screen anymore while opening/closing apps.  I just close my eyes or look away.

I've had zero issues with any iOS version prior...

Although apple does not support it you CAN go back to iOS6. Use google for instructions and PLEASE keep reporting the problem to Apple or they will not fix it. Unless a large amount of people are vocal and speak up about this Apple will assume its only effecting a small minority and will not take it seriously.

Apple, please fix this problem. I'm having serious headaches due to the gimmicky animations in IOS7. What's the point of them? I also hate that you removed the option to only see recent emails on the Mail app. What a nightmare. My phone doesn't feel like my phone anymore. It's unpleasant to use. Wish I could downgrade.

I am having the same problem where the excessive use of animation is hurting my eyes and making me motion sick like the other discussion board members. I'm using a newer iPad, have tried the reduction option with no noticeable difference in the interface. Apple usability team, please add a disable animations option- what was my most useful computer-based tool, is now painful. From one Ui/UX to another the black on white text was a bad call too - the animation and usability decisions in the new OS are going to wind up ostracizing a huge percentage of your existing and future user base.

I am suffering the same problem.  The animations or zooming in when opening and closing apps (or however you describe it) are giving me a headache and even made me feel sick.

Furthermore, I met 10 people yesterday who had upgraded to iOS7, of which 8 people complained of the same problem.

Apple please dont mistake this as a only affecting people who suffer from motion sickness.  I have never suffered from motion sickness in my life and neither had any people I met yesterday. But I get a headache from opening up an app, surely thats unnacceptable experience.  I had every intention of upgrading to a 5s.  But its really not worth it.  Ive never owned an Android device.  I think I will very soon.

To me it's not so much nausea and such, it's just the absolute waste of time.  A second for the fade on the lock screen, a second for icons to fly around with about every activity.  It's really getting on my nerves.  Whatever happened to Jobs' minimalist zen style I loved so much?  I hate getting annoyed every time I have to use my phone, but that's what is happening.  Just like animations have become abhored with PowerPoints, they should with phones.  Please, please Apple, add an option to turn off animations.

My solutiuon: I went to the AT&T store near me and traded in my iOS 7 infected iPhone 5 for a new iPhone 5 with old iOS 6 on it.

Came home and used my backup to restore the new phone and started using iOS6 again and the nausea went away IMMEDIATLY.

For me it was way beyond the zooming and the paralaxing in iOS7, it seemed to be something with a buzz or vibration (for lack of a better description) coming off the screen because even glancing at the lock screen made me feel awful.

+1, same for me. The 3D zooming effects are just too-much. Best you can do is submit your feedback: http://apple.com/feedback.

Also, Apple does not sign iOS6 anymore, so downgrading is no option. We're stuck with a phone running software that makes us feel sick. Way to go Apple.

Yes, exactly. I can just look at an iOS 7 lock screen with the same image as iOS 6 and my eyes hurt after a minute. I can look at my iOS 6 phone all day without issue. It's almost as if the screen refresh rate is messed up or something else very fundamental is different.

    Glad you found a solution.

Yeah I'm now reading that the FPS (frames per second) of animations in certain games and OS's have been reported to cause motion related nausea for some people...

Another issue I was having was the anticipation of the animations starting up but then lagging was incredibly jarring to my senses.

Perhaps Apple needs to consider lag and FPS in this new iOS?

Apple should  at least allow users to restore to IOS 6 until this issue is resolved.  This is very disappointing having both an iPad and and iPhone  that make me feel ill when using.  It is really unbearable with the larger screen on the iPad.

I've moved my apps off the home screen and am using a black wallpaper. Please allow users to disable the navigation animations.
