Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

Thanks for the launch pad suggestion.

It's a work around but is working better than the nothing response from Apple.

Have no icons on home screen. Most used and Launch Pad in the dock.

Not having to deal with the zoom animation most of the time really magnifies how awful it is when I have to navigate outside of Launch Pad.

    Apple, please deal with this!

Well, looks like this exchange is being monitored. Thank you for removing my post.

I will repeat without offering the work around I posted:

Apple, please offer the option to turn off the zoom animation.

    Just got back from Verizon.

    Traded in 16GB iPhone 4S (with iOS7) for my mom's 8GB iPhone 4 (with iOS6).

I have a slower phone, with less memory, but I can't tell you how happy I am to have my iOS6 back.

Received my 5s on Friday. Nauseous on Saturday, Sunday and now Monday. The reduce motion option does what it says but is not preventing my motion sickness. The navigation animations are making me sick. Would really like to enjoy this phone and the ios 7. Apple pls provide and option for those of us that suffer from motion sickness.

I have suffered from this issue and it is also triggering migraines. The Reduce Motion "fix" isn't available on the iPhone 4, so I've had to revert to using an old HTC Android device.

I hope that my carrier will provide a replacement device from a different supplier on health-risk grounds, but I'm not optimistic.

Totally agree I've regestered today to express my concern. I'm affected too didn't think I would be, I've placed my messages App in it's own box to limit the animation Zoom that's the issue (Reduce Motion is nothing compared to all this Zoom out Zoom in non stop) I can't even look at my phone.

To open an app just look away then use your phone..!

I am also badly suffering from motion sickness with the new iOS.

I was warned, but never thought it would be this bad and I now find out that I cannot just go back to my previous version through a backup - wheres the use in that??

PLEASE add an option to turn off animations - I HATE the competitors phones, but will have to go to one if this isn't fixed soon as I need a reliable device that does not make me sick.

I had vertigo from an ear infection that i cured, until ios 7 came along. Now its back. Reduce motion is not the problem, zooming is the problem. Everything else in ios 7 is simplified and beautiful but the zooming is a horific outlier. Please allow me to turn it off. Vertigo is real and preventible and treatable. Apple, please turn off the stupid zoom or i might fall off my rocker. Thank you.

I feel sick as a dog after 4 days on iOS7.  Even looking at my phone for 1 minute induces the sickness.  I frankly can't believe it.  My wife has no issue whatsoever.  I am going to wait till the end of the week and if there's no fix will have to get a Samsung phone or somehow get back to iOS6.  My phone is unusable currently.

Am surprised this got through the testers.

Please Apple, do something or let us know if this issue is being worked on. Please

    LM

I agree completely.  I have issues with bppv, and the animations are making me nauseas.  Please add an option to turn off the animations, and offer a way to downgrade in the meantime.  Not sure what I'm going to do right now, but it's definitely a problem.

I get the feeling that we have trolls here about sickness,  when in fact it is a mere annoyance.  However the issue of constant motion and activity is addressed in this TV segment: http://billmoyers.com/segment/sherry-turkle-on-being-alone-together/

It is fear of tranquility.  The programs author is only catering to the users who demand constant action, movement, activity, without a pause to reflect, etc.  and iOS7 is the subconcious result.  Think about it.

Absolutely no trolls here; I can't use my phone without looking away for every transition.  Have been using iPhones since my iPhone 3.  How would you like to feel sick everytime you played with your phone?

Would be good to know if this is being worked on, via some optionality in the accessibility menu that's all.

I can swear to you we are not trolling. We have no reason to. I personally have a imac, phone 5, ipad mini, and a iphone 5s (not using until the issue is fixed). And I can assure you this is a legit issue. It's never happened before which makes it more frustrating. I want to be using iOS7 trust me, but the zooming from different screen locations (based on where the icon is) gives me a dizzy disoriented feeling and I do allot of social media marketing so I'm on my phone going between apps allot and it was just too much to take. Thankfully I was able to go back to 6.1.4 before Apple stopped signing it. I'm just hoping they will allow the option to remove the zooming to help us who it effects but will stay on by default for those of you that have no issues with the effect.

Don't think they're trolling. Lots of people here are saying similar things (and I'm one of them). Literally feeling sick, bad headache (which I normally never get), the works. (this in additon to my issues with the mere aesthetics -far too much white, etc).

Yeah, I had headaches that lasted for hours for a mere few minutes of using my phone.  The zoom transitions were my issue in that regard.
