Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

Indeed, I too found the zooming and weird colors most disconcerting and VERY ANNOYING.  Albeit I could have forced myself to use it, but I would have had an inner hatred knowing there was an easy fix but conciously ignored by the iOS7 creators.

My solution was simple, move on.

I already and an Android tablet, so moving to Galaxy S4 was an easy decision, as our cell contract was up for renewal. I'll never look back.

I'm here now because the forum diligently send me updates on this topic, and did note what appears to be similar contexual wording in complaints of physical sickness.

My son & wife, on the same family plan, with iPhone 5's also disabled as much of the screen action, but are resigned, pending some resolution.  However, today, for Sunday lunch, he did admire my wise decision after trying the Android Galaxy.

I have considered getting a Moto X, as it has very good build quality, and is basically stock android. I don't want to do that though. The apple ecosystem can not be matched by google. Too many exclusives and itunes is far superior to google play store. Apple could fix this so easily, just give the option to Turn Off.

I'm about to move on, too.  I've given up on them offering a solution.  I'm not happy, because I have enjoyed the Apple ecosystem, but I'm pretty sure they'll be going in this direction with the computer OS as well.  It's disappointing that they are ignoring this. 

I assure you I am not a troll-- how many ways are there to describe motion sickness?  Likely, people noticed feeling queasy or nauseated, did a search, and realized that they were not alone.

Yeah I echo the sentiments of Librijenne. I was very hopeful but that hope has been waning ever since I came across a forum where a beta tester for the iOS 7 said the iOS was causing him to get motion sick back in June of this year. If they ignored it way back then, then we're screwed. Stinks cuz I was really excited about the TouchID but now its looking like I might just have a really expensive paperweight.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who is getting nauseated and headaches from the crazy roller coaster in and out of a simple application change. The reduce motion in settings is a joke too. I'm seriously going to have to change phones so my eyes don't permanently cross..jk, but they might. Maybe seeing a movie in 3d is fun for some people (personally they make me sick) but looking at a tiny screen move in and out like a tiny dancer no thanks. 

Different, new and the latest cool tricks (let's face it that's what this is a trick) is not always better. Also not that big of a deal but the beta looking flat icons and the white on light grey keypad are not that aesthetically pleasing. JS.

Perversely pleased to hear that we're not alone; only question is how long to persist with the 'look away' phone use before giving up.  Given that we can't be 'that' atypical, my gut tells me that Apple will provide a fix.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm woefully bad at connecting the dots (not recognizing that say, every time I ate a banana I felt sick). Given that, even I managed to think, hey I wonder if sudden daily headaches are caused by this phone.

Other than trolls just being cowards with nothing better to do, they're also ignoring the fact that human eyes are designed for very specific purposes for certain types of input. They aren't designed for burning colors and constant movement. It's very apparent they are no longer hiring usability experts or they're just ignoring the poor ********. That's why the the Apple OS was so subtly yet profoundly advanced. Those poor, angry trolls getting all up in arms over someone else's physical, human reactions may one day, and potentially very soon, realize that the movement toward this kind of interface will ruin your eyes, even if you don't feel physically sick. I've noticed a significant drop off in aggressive whining from ridiculous fanboys. Perhaps they're already blind and stooped over the toilet blowing chunks after a couple weeks of using this total ******** 

I think I'll get a flip phone.

I´ve updated to iOS 7 right after it came out and I´m glad I did it.

Everything looks and feels cleaner, many tasks are faster and overall the UI looks like a modern device.

I totally disagree with all the whiners who get sick of the motion or get blinded by the bright colors, and miss their shiny lickable UI of iOS 6.

And I´m very annoyed by all these Android write bots who want to tell me that the grass is greener over there. I tried it and it is simply not true.

However, there are a few things that could be better in iOS 7 and I´ve submitted some feedback to get it fixed in a future release (@Fandroids: which is sure to come to my iPhone 5 :-p ).

Well, since you saw fit to use inflammatory language ("whiners", a sarcastic aside to sickness and eye sensitivity to the new design), may I just offer a hearty "get lost" from all of us, you attention seeking DB?

This discussion was created for people who are experiencing motion sickness and nausea from the new design (which, btw, looks a whole lot like an Android design). If you have nothing to contribute other than exhibiting your lack of empathy and, frankly, idiocy, then don't bother us.

Maybe my contribution to this "discussion" was too well hidden in the text.

My point is this: Instead of whining about the evil designers at Apple, please consider to send some constructive feedback to Apple (see the link in my previous post) to tell them not only your opinion about the new UI but also your wishes and ideas for a better future. This might be more effective than a short negative statement in a forum thread with 41 pages.

We are all so happy for you and wish we were just like you. Must be nice to lack empathy for others. Forget the nausea and overall hideousness of the new IOS. How about the amount of time it now takes to check a list of voicemails? Click on the number or caller name. Click to play it. Click to stop it or close the menu. Click the next on the list to open it. Click again to hear it etc.Frustrating, inefficient, and nonsensical. All the things that Apple is known not to be. I bought my first mac in 2001 and have never owned a PC, so no ax to grind here. My house is loaded with Apple products. This one just *****.

IOS7 too much zoom effect and photos change from square to circle in phonebook.  What is the benebits?  Circle photos decrease the size which I cannot see my friends.  Steve Jobs, please wake up!  Magazine tells iPhone 6 changes from 4" to 4.7" and 5.7".  I prefer it stays with 4".  If apple's fans like 5.7", we buy Samsung already.  If develop 5.7" iPhone, why not just add LTE chips into ipad mini?  Without Steve, Apple is following Samsung now.  I use 4 and 5, and hope I will use 6.  But if the direction is really go in this way, I have to consider my 5S to be the last phone that salute to Steve. Thanks Steve these few years!  I enjoyed my 4, pity to 5, and may be not 6!

Before upgrading i was kind of on the side of the non-believers with this issue, but i upgraded to ios7 and can't believe how bad of a reaction i'm having.  it doesn't even seem to make sense.  i get a headache and nausea almost instantly when using the phone now.  i'm typically a heavy user, but now can barely check messages.  i'm locked in to the apple ecosystem with my macbook pro, apple tv, icloud, ipad, ipod touch, mac mini, and wife's iphone and ipad mini, not to mention the nearly 4k songs and dozens of movies and tv shows i've purchesed in iTunes.  it will suck to have to switch to another company for my phone, but without a fix for this issue I seem to literally have no choice.  is there any indication from apple that there may be a solution coming for those of us effected by this?  i regret that i'm one of them and wish i never upgraded to ios7.       

No one is whining. The subject of this discussion is the motion sickness issue. It's right there in the title and everything! A large number of us have already submitted feedback to Apple, but there's nothing wrong with adding to the discussion. A) It lets us (and Apple) know that, yes, in fact there is a LEGITIMATE issue experienced by a significant number of iOS users(as hipjointnyc says, many of us had no expectation or prevoius expereince with this kind of disorientation), and B) It requests that Apple please make a "disable" OPTION available. You want the nice pretty zooming crap? Great. Enjoy it. We don't, and for a reason beyond aesthetics.

You're a real big intimidating internet tough guy, calling us whiners for a second time from you computer screen. Please, get lost. Feel free to start a seperate discussion about how we're whiners, that's your right. But you have nothing of value to contribute here.
