Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

From the YouTube video it looks like all that zooming in and out can be disabled. I loved my iPad before upgrading to iOS7. Since then I've suffered from headaches and motion sickness whenever I've used it. I just want my old iPad back. It looks like this new version will provide that. Can't wait! Apple appears to have listened.

iOS 7.0.3 gives you the option to reduce motion (under accessibility options). If enabled, you get a dissolve effect, much faster than before. To me it feels weird and I prefer the animations. If only they were a tad faster.

I prefer to have the animations than this dissolve effect.

Just downloaded 7.0.3 on my iPhone5.

    LOVE IT!!!

THANK YOU to Apple for listening to our concerns promptly.  Now I can use my iPhone without looking away each time - I've been so accustomed to closing my eyes each time, I hope I can re-learn to keep my eyes open when switching apps!

Apple realized this was an REAL issue for some users and gave us the option to disable.

(Wonder what are all the naysayers gonna say now?  They'll probably come here and post "hope you crybabies and whiners are happy now!".  And I'm sure some will say "I still don't believe any of these issues are real!")

Well, I for one, am super happy!

Finished my install.  It is better for me with the dissolves (though iOS 6-style animations would also have been fine.)  What a relief.

Oh thank god.  The reduce motion feature in 7.0.3 makes the zooms go away and changes it to a fade effect.

No more nausea ... I just spent a couple of minutes opening folders and apps and no reaction.

Note that I have a iPhone 4 so the Reduce Motion option is now visible on this device even though parallax is not.

I'm marking this "answered" and heading out to buy a 5S.

To all the people who accused us of being Samsung Trolls ... please continue to be apple loyalists and buy tons of apple stuff because I'm a shareholder :-)

For those who thought creating a thread that has expanded to 41 pages meant nothing, guess again. Apple made this update bc we were a vocal, outspoken group. I'm going to stay on iOS 6 for now - not taking the chance til I hear from you all if the update has truly fixed

A 41 page thread here? No. But a large number of submissions to the Feedback page - probably.

you really think a corporation as large as Apple doesn't take consideration on  what their customers  post on their company ran support forums ?

people posting in the forums also made national news about the issue,   I'm sure that had some effect too

either way, I'm very pleased with the update.. Really like the new IOS now.

And those that want the animations, can still have them if they want. It's a win/win.

Wow! Did apple actually listen to their customers? I honestly didn't think apple would do anything about the complaints! Well let us all know if it "fixes" the zooming into the app icons!

Apple has one of the best records in the industry for supporting accessibility.  This isn't surprising at all.

My only worry was that this was not affecting enough people to get on the their radar.  Once Leo Laporte and a bunch of other bloggers started reporting this I was just hoping the fix would come out before 7.1.

yes, the animations are gone, as long as you turn the reduce motion setting to on.

both my ipad and iphone are much more enjoyable to use now

both seem more snappier and no motion sickness issues

    again, thank you Apple !
