Q: Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache.  It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off?  Do I have to revert to 6?

I really don't understand how can some animations make you guys dizzy! Do you just look at the screen and stars start appearing circling your head? It's the single most ridiculous thing I've ever come across! I take it none of you is a sailor then?

Because of you lot now the rest of the world is stuck with boring fade effects. Cheers!

As for not being able understand that not everyone is like you, that might be a social disorder. Regarding the annimations; all you have to do is go to your setting and then Accessibility and uncheck reduce motion. All Apple has done is given us all the option to turn on or off the annimations.

As one of the first people who voiced their opinion on this matter, I have come back to report the progress:

Since we have Apple Care Plus, I was able to get a phone that has iOS6 and not 7. It was the best thing to happen since I <3 my iPhone and didn't want to change. I was affected by the motion zoom to the point that my phone was not usable. So, I thank Apple for giving me the option to "get my phone back".

I have seen the videos on YouTube that show the change from Animation to Fade. But, that does not solve everything.

Being that I am a social creature, as most humans, I use texting A LOT. The texts still feature bouncing bubbles with white on green texts for the sent messages. The bouncing is not necessary, and is dizzyfying. Being that texts are a main part of my usage, I will not go to 7 until it is able to function without the bells and whistles.

The white instead of black background, when folders are open, is quite off putting whenst trying to focus on the app that was opened. Please do not tell me to put everything in one folder; I have heard and tried it all before going to get another dang phone.

Also, my other main beef, is the camera. It puts the button on the screen instead of aside from it; you are using a button and it covers up part of the picture instead of being separate.

To the haters, YES I did contact Apple about my concerns, and YES I did try to use the product (phone), so please do not tell me I am complaining here for no reason. I wanted to turn off the animations, but the more I use(d) the phone, the more problems I encountered.

To those whom have used the new setting: YAY! I am glad Apple has made a fix, but given my experience, I cannot just upgrade yet when it took so much to get iOS6 back V_V

Thank you to everyone who also voiced their experience with the new iOS, and thank you to Apple for listening. There are still a few kinks to work out, and I am excited to see the progress as it developes. At this time though, I am more comfortable not upgrading since there are still more issues to be worked out.

I did the same - traded in my phone for a 5 that was still on iOS 6, thanks to Apple Care. Btw: I agree with your comments re: the camera and the texting bubbles. I won't be upgrading to 7 until the design is of the same standards as the engineering.

If in the next year the design remains pretty much as it is, I will give serious consideration to Android.

I am glad to not be the only one with the camera and texting issues. If there is a thread on those, please point me to the URL

Also, when Apple Care Plus runs out, we plan to switch devices if these issues are not addresssed.

I think that the zoom is an option you can enable or disable, so really, no one "took anything away" from ya

Had major dizziness from the animation zooms but since 7.0.3 no problems at all. The text bubbles and camera don't seem to be effecting me at all. I'm sorry for those that are still having issues but really glad Apple took care of the zooming problems.

I think you are the worst troll here.

If you don't want to hear other people's opinion then just talk to the guy looking at you when you brush your teeth.

I welcome opinion, but when you and the other trolls call us - in our forum - whiners and use sarcasm and make derogatory comments at our expense, what do you expect to get in return?

If it's not your problem, then why do you enter a discucssion only to point and laugh at those with a valid isse? To display your lack of empathy? I would never have known you at all had you not come here with the express purpose of trolling.

If you ever want to meet up and "discuss" this issue in person, let me know. I'd really enjoy it.

    1. It is not "your" forum, it is an Apple forum.

    2. I did not laugh at anyone. I complained about whining without giving proper feedback.

    3. Did you tell any Fandroids in "your" forum to get lost?

    Motion sickness from phone use?

Ok, if you feel it, then it's real.

Now there's a switch for that and there are some who complain that there aren't TWO switches!

    C'mon! That's what I call 'whining'.

Honestly I've only seen one person complaining about the lack of two toggles. I may have missed some in the other posts coming in but really all I've been seeing is a bunch of people posting about how happy they are that the problem has been addressed and that they can use their phones again.
