Need to copy a homemade iMovie to a DVD. iDVD will make the copy, but the copy will only play on another computer. It will not play on a regular BlueRay DVR and TV screen.

Called Apple to ask why. They want $20 just to let me talk to them...

Hi

homemade iMovie to a DVD

Then use Disk Util tool (it's on Your Mac) (if You got a DVD and want a Copy)

From iMovie:

- Share to Media Browser - AND AS Medium (not HD or other resolution as DVD then will lose even more in Quality)

- DO NOT USE - Share to iDVD as result will be very BAD

(Best is to use iMovie HD6 or FinalCut any version - as they deliver to iDVD 100% of what iDVD uses (interlaced SD-Video))

in iDVD:

- Import movie from MEDIA button / Movies

But there are many things that add together to create a BAD DVD

• Brand of DVD used - Memorex, NoName etc cheap brands usually DO NOT WORK for Video-DVDs

- I use Verbatim (more organic dye in them)

• Type of DVD used - DVD+/-RW usually do not work - DVD+R only on newer DVD-players

- I use DVD-R

• also - SL-DVDs usually works better than DL-DVDs

• BURN SPEED - by setting this as low possibly = Less Burn Errors = Works better

- BEST is NOT BEST - I use x2 or x4 Max

• Free Space on Start-Up (Mac OS) Hard Disk matters

- I never go less than 25Gb (when using SD-Video material - id HD I guess that 4-5 times more will be safe minimum.
