Apparently, someone thought that changing the MACBook Notes feature to use a yellow font was a good idea. Apparently the customers do not agree. I am one of them who does not agree. I also find this method Apple has of ignoring customer opinion by creating these "black hole" blogs insulting and time wasting. I can't see the yellow font very well because I have cataracts. I also agree that the aesthetic doesn't work for me. I do not want to read 241 blog entries to find out that the font has to be yellow. Somebody decided to use this color--and previously this was not the case it was a change, I know that because previously I could change it. Apple does not consider the customers' desires or inconvenience important. Next upgrade for me will be to vote with my feet. Thanks for listening. If a tree falls in a forest. . .

This is not a blog. It's a user-to-user technical support forum. I'm not sure why you find that insulting. Apple is very clear, in the Terms of Use to which you agreed when registering that their participation here is minimal. The appropriate link to let Apple know how you feel has been given several times in this thread. If this matter is important to you, I suggest you let Apple know.

Meanwhile, there are lots of other note-taking apps available for the Mac as well. I'm a big fan of Evernote but it's overkill for a lot of people. For bare bones notetaking, I like SimpleNote.

You know, I dont like the white. But I can live with it.

But I'm sorry, having my links in my notes (which I used a lot) be yellow just is not cutting it. I have enhanced the contrast, I have enlarged the font, I have made it bold. I still can barely read them.

I have to say there are other places where I find it hard to read. The phone keypad is hard for me to see. The calendar is way bad.

And yes, I know I am talking about the phone and the ipad does not have a dialing pad.

But in Reminders I can change some of the colors. Why not elsewhere? I guess Sir Ive has better "vision" than I do.

I have to say when my wife, who has a vision impairment saw the phone dialing pad and the noteson the ipad her first words were "I cant see that at all".

The accessibility lifeboat was left on the dock and only a few life vests were put on board. Oh wait - that was the Titanic.......

First, hate to be snippy but Webster is a dictionary. Weber.

In my message I noted that I had enhanced the contrast, I had enlarged the font, I had made it bold. I guess I failed to say my wife had seen it after all those had been done. It did not help,

I hooked my ipad into a data projector and showed the notes on a whiteboard at 3 foot by 3 foot HD. (No my wife did not see this). It was actually harder to see the yellow on white.

I have spent my day on an off looking to see if there was some solution to this. I saw many complaints about the notes and calendar. None of the people in question mentioned vision issues so I assume they are normally sighted.

No one, could possibly look at a bright white background with yellow text and think it is is appropriate. I do not know who at Apple made this choice - but it is 'expletive deleted' stupid. Same is true of the uncustomizable calendar which is hard to read on phone or ipad. Again, I saw lots of complaints about this. No one lines photos up in an app that has a screaming white background and expects there not to be a washout effect. iPhoto is virutally useless.

I like many of the new features (multitaksing, more apps in folder, and others), but the blazing white is hard on the eyes.

But truth is it is not the choice of the colors that angers me. It is the arrogant assumption that what is good for the designer is good for all.

Give me the power to make it work for me. This is not a new concept. This is not something that has not been done (reference my comment about the Reminders or think about being able to set my wallpaper).

William,

I guess I expected more because Apple has for so long prided itself on accessibility.Because they seemed to have become a company that wanted to change the world for the better by bringing a sense of style. Not one that forced its style on anyone.

But then I alao have to stop and remember from the last time I owned an Apple product in 1983 until I gave in and gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought an iphone 3gs, I refused to own Apple because of the way they treated customers way back then.

1983 was the year before the Mac. I was an Apple /// owner. The circle seems to come around and lessons learned have been forgotten.

William -- My father had a very hard time seeing things on his Mac, also. Which is exactly why I looked into what I could find on the subject to share with Weber.

I'm sad that some of you all don't realize that we who help out here, do so because we've been where so many of our posters are now, and simply want to help.

Oh well . . .

Weber -- I agree with everything you said. I've tried everything -- increase contrast, font size, use bold -- everything. I still can't deal with yellow font on a white background. What were they thinking? I submitted this issue on an iPhone feedback form. I hope everyone will do the same.

I'm looking for an alternate app.

I hate white background of iOS7. I tried two days adjusting brightness. Either it's too dark for everything, or too bright for the background. Fonts are too thin. My eyes have been tearing for two days! ! !

Besides, the brightness control bar is ridiculous. You really cannot have any idea the brightness that you're adjusting because whenever the control centre swipe up, the original screen dims! When you're finished with the Control Centre, the screen brightens up. So, every time you adjust the brightness, you are just doing a blind guess. It's a ******** design!
