Same problem, also the thing with me is that I don't have my phone showing the AirDrop icon on my control center too. Does anyone know how to get that icon and get around working with AirDrop.

My iphone 5 can't see my iPad mini and the mini can't see the iphone 5. My iPad can, however, see other iPad minis at work. No one can see the iphone 5. Sounds like an issue with iphone 5.

Having the same issue here with two 4th gen iPads. Neither can see each other.

Unless I am mistaken, AirDrop isn't available on the iPhone 4S.

Same issue here.  My fiancée's iPhone 5 (white, Verizon) can detect and send files to my iPhone (black, Verizon) via AirDrop, but I cannot detect her iPhone.  I have tried the "Contacts Only" and "Everyone" settings on both phones.  Same results.

I'm having similar trouble trying to use airdrop via bluetooth - iphone5(ios7) and retina powerbook. I've spent a little time on it - and it doesn't seem to be working.

I'm having the same problem trying to use AirDrop between my MacBook Air running OS X 10.8.5 and my iPhone5 running IOS 7. The MacBook has Wifi and Bluetooth enable, and the Finder window showing AirDrop shows the little icon on the left sidebar searching. But it can't see my iPhone5.

On the iPhone5, I have Wifi and Bluetooth enabled, and AirDrop set to Everyone. But when I go to share a Photo, my MacBook doesn't appear as an option to be selected.

I was having this issue and solved it by getting off my home wifi network. Airdrop uses wifi to create a 1 to 1 network with the other phone in the equation. If those phones are currently already on a wifi network it can't create a second connection to use for sharing data and therefore nothing shows up in the airdrop space on the sharing screen. Once I told my phone and my wife's phone to "forget" our home wifi network airdrop worked like a charm. I'm not positive the above logic makes sense as I'm not well versed in mobile technology, but the end result is what I was looking for. Hopefully this works for others.

I have exhausted everything for Airdrop to work to transfer files from my iPhone 5 to an iPhone 5. I have set Airdrop settings to "Everyone"  for both iPhone 5. Also tried to turn on Bluetooth and Wifi. I also have  tried to close all apps running in the background and rebooted both  phones. But somehow I couldn't get it to work to transfer photos from  the Photos app. None of that is working no matter how hard I try to tap  the Airdrop option on the Photos app. I don't know what else to do and I  don't want to restore my phone.

Like I said above just make sure your phones are not logged on to any wifi network. If you are doing this at home if bet your phones are connected to your home network. You need to have wifi on, but not connected to any network. It took me a while to figure this out but worked right away once I logged off my home network.

MTurner, thanks for the tips. But I had already tried your suggestion and it doesn't work at all on my iPhone 5 with Final iOS7.

I have 2 ipad mini both on Final iOS7, when both are connected to home wifi network, airdrop is working fine.

When my iPhone 5 is on iOS GM, the airdrop is working fine until the final iOS7 version.
