Q: iTunes 11.1 will not authorize PC

I have deauthorized all my other computers in iTunes 11.1.  I have authorized the current PC that 11.1 is installed on the iPhone 4s with IOS 7.0.  I start sync and it stops after step 2 and gives this message, "The iPhone (Name) could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone."  So I deauthorized and authorize the PC again and get the same message.

Any ideas/help?

thanks

The problem lies in the fact that you probably have more than one apple ID for all your app/music purchases currently on your iphone.  Best thing to do is to authorize each apple ID that you have on itunes 11.1.  Once I did this, my iphone was able to sync without problems.

    Hopefully this helps.

    @psych_doc

I'm assuming you probably had a different hiccup since the rest of the people here haven't been able to duplicate your 'fix' and continue to have the same problem.

    iPhone Guy

    I can fixed....(iTune 11.1 and my iphone4 ios 7)

First of all I tried to reauthorize my PC (Win 7) and  sign in many time but still bug.

    As  psych_doc shared last post.

    I tried this

    1. Erased all iphone app in my PC

    2. Uninstalled iTunes11.1

    3. Uninstalled Apple Mobile Device Manager

    4. Uninstalled Apple Software Update Manager

and re install itunes 11.1 then connect my iphone and re authorize my pc with apple ID.

then no problem about any sync.

(items 1 may do not it ...not sure)

Firstly when a sync/transfer of purchases fails stating that the computer is not authorized on the said account it'll give you the option to see what items it's talking about. In the error find what items are giving issues, find said items in the libraries, right click, get info, and observe what account is displayed as originally downloaded/purchased on account.  Authorize that account and attempt again.

The 'solved my issue' answer is ********.  If answer above does not solve issue then click store, deauthorize and then re-authorize the computer and attempt again.

This is hardly a solution though. Uninstall 15 itesm etc.

Apple should have the solution that does all this for us.

11.1 has really screwed up things.

ANd 3 days already, no solution.

    Pity.

No kidding, spend an hour uninstalling and reinstalling is the solution?  Not that I don't appreate the answers in this thread, but I'm having the same problem and would rather spend my Sunday evening watching football than fixing something that Apple broke and has not fixed.

Hey guys, don't snipe at me for trying to be helpful.  I posted what worked for ME.  If it doesn't work for you, don't ***** at me.  Do your own **** research and find a solution for YOU. Or better yet, call Apple support like I did, see how that goes for you.

My **** syncs now, sorry yours doesn't.

    Hi psych_doc

I hear you. Not at all sniping at you. Its just frustrating that Apple cant fix this. 2 seconds ago, I just opened iTunes, and clicked on the Store, and 90% loading bar and than CRASH. So basically I cant even look for apps on the store till these guys fix this **** problem.

Sad if they are releasing products in a hurry without proper testing.

Also your soluition am glad it worked for you but you were doing what APPLE should fix in the fisrt place!

You are good enough to have tired a workaround to THEIR meessing up!!

    Cheers

    I am running windows 8:

After 2 days I figured it out. Go to the itunes home page (where all of the music is shown); in the very upper left- hand corner is a small black/white box with a pull down arrow beside it. Click the arrow; Pull the menu down and click on "show tool bar". On the tool bar is "Store". Click on this and you should see several options;  "authorize this computer" being one option. Worked! Good luck

I deleted all the app that I had installed on my iPhone and tried to sync, and to my surprise it worked. Guess other apps were installed using different accounts and so iTunes had this issue..

There is only one way to get rid of this problem. No need to uninstall anything from your PC.

    > Just uninstall all apps from your device.

    > Restart your device and connect it to the computer.

    > It will be synced automatically without any error.

Later on itunes will automatically put back all apps on your system whilst auto sync process. You dont need to choose app one by one.

    This will definately help!!!

    Thanks.

It's hilarious reading people's posts about how it's Apple's fault and iTunes is junk.  The problem lies in the fact that the user doesn't know what they're doing and can't manage what accounts they download and sync information with.

Situation:  You have an AppleID and you download content directly to your phone.  You then either through syncing with your computer that another person with an ID used, someone else's computer with another ID, or signed in directly on the device with another ID and downloaded content.   That content that you put on the device in one of those scenarios is  now linked to the original ID that it was downloaded with and is not YOUR main ID.   If you want that content to be transfered from your phone to the computer you need to authorize that computer to the account the content was downloaded on.  Each account can have 10 devices, 5 of which can be computers, authorized to it.

Deleting the applications on your phone will work but you'll also lose all application data.  Better solution? Back up your phone to the computer without transfering purchases.  On the computer in iTunes download all applications to the computer that are currently installed on the phone.  Erase all Content and settings then restore the back up you have on the computer we just made to the phone.  This will then have all applications using the proper AppleID and since we backed up and restored you'll keep all information associated with any application that was on the device.

In the future, dont mess with content that you don't yourself download from the store with your own AppleID.
