Q: Ios 7 4s sound issues no sound via music player

Hello,

I thought you might be interested that my phone now works fine.  This was a handset that had no sound from 22nd September until 1st November.  There was no magic trick that finally fixed it - I was using it as normal and it came on for a short period of time on 1st Nov (1min), then longer on 2nd (2 mins), then for a while on and off, until finally it works no matter what I press.

Very very odd, and one of the most frustrating things to have happened to me (I clearly lead a pampered life).

I've exactly same problem after upgrade. Some time sound came back after charging, but will be gone for no reason after a while . Apple no response so far , they do this on purpose so we have buy a new phone?

You are a genius!  I scoffed at this suggestion, then tried it... and it WORKS!!!!  thank you

Absolute genius, this is definetly the fix.  Ive had this no sound prblem since the update and thought that was the cause but i cleaned the dock with a bit of flat plastic and blew it out and hey presto sound back in about 5 seconds , madness lol.....

Thanks for the video but this only applies to iPhone 5 and above - which comes with Airplay. What about us iPhone 4S users that don't have Airplay installed?

Actually its only for iphone 4 and 4s. Try it, but i will suggest only the brush. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. However, when you swipe up (41 seconds into your video) you tap on an Airplay option. I don't have this on my iPhone 4S????

Ignore that last comment - just realised Airplay isn't important.

i have the same problem had a new speaker and mike fitted but just the same very quiet ringtone and no mike

Actually , scrub my last comment as my sound went about 5 minutes after posting this and is still not working now !!!!!!!!
