It is in the menu bar, in a row with File-Edit-View-Controls-Store-Help.

If you don't see a menu bar, use CTRL+B to enable it.

The fact that people have to resort to searching on the internet just to find the help menu is a testament to the failure of itunes. I looked on the menu in the upper left, I thought that was it - didn't know there was yet another menu... as a user - I should absolutely NOT have to spend as much time finding things, finding out how to do things - and to add insult to injury - they change the layout of itunes SO frequently that I gave up trying to learn it. I do that enough in my job during the day - APPLE FAILURE. By the way - did you know that Steve Jobs is the reason why our children have to wait UNTIL THEY'RE GROWN UP to watch the sequel to Finding Nemo??? Just learned that today. They were going to do a remake right away but good 'ole coffin popper SJ put the brakes on that years ago. At least in 2016 we'll have it.

"The fact that people have to resort to searching on the internet just to find the help menu is a testament to the failure of iTunes"

Good point (though I wouldn't go as far as "failure").  It is surprising that Apple haven't followed the conventions used (for example) in Microsoft's Office products where Help (via the question-mark-in-a-circle icon) is always available in the UI irrespective of the user's choices of enabling/disabling the menu bar, toolbars, ribbon, etc.  Having the menu bar default to disabled also seems counter-productive - Apple may see this as "simplification" but I can't imagine that any users, other than those who make the bare minimum use of iTunes, would not want to have the functions available via the menus available at all time.

https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html allows you to submit feedback with respect to bugs, errors, omissions, and enhancements to the iTunes development team (though the degree to which this influences development is a matter of conjecture).

Thanks this helped me to find it. You would think that Apple would display something like HELP all the time. Anyway having looked at the help list it seems that adding music from my windows music library can't be done anyway and I will have to add CDs one at a time.

    Thanks again.

The Help files are misleading if you've concluded that "adding music from my windows music library can't be done".  There are three ways in which this can be achieved:

    • Select File > Add Folder to Library... then navigate to and select the folder(s) containing your existing media files
    • Drag and drop the folder(s) containing your existing media files from Windows Explorer (File Explorer in Win10) to iTunes
    • Copy the folder(s) containing your existing media files to iTunes' Automatically Add to iTunes folder

All three will add the media in the selected folder(s) to your iTunes library.  However, you'll also need to determine whether you want to leave the media files in their existing location or copy them to iTunes' standard media folders.  If you want to leave the files in place, uncheck the Copy files ... option in Edit > Preferences > Advanced and use either File > Add Folder to Library... or drag and drop (using the Automatically Add to iTunes folder always copies media files to the standard folders, irrespective of the Copy files ... setting).  If you do want to copy the files into the standard library folders, check the the Copy files ... option and use any of the three methods listed above.  If you want iTunes to use its standard (metadata-based) scheme for file and folder naming also check the Organize ... option.

If you do choose to have iTunes copy your media files into its media folders, check that everything has transferred correctly then delete the original files & folders to recover disc space.
