error 1669

Hi Guys,

I tried updating my software to iOS 7 and I encountered an error 1669? My phone is now stuck to restore mode and cannot use my phone.

Any ideas?

hi i fully solve the error 1669 doing these steps below

STEP 1: Delete iTunes from your computer. Also make sure you remove the cache(open itunes then press edit wich is located on the tool bar and then click on preferences and then go to advanced and click on reset warrnings and reset cache).

then go to your hard disk and go to program files and delete folder named itunes.

Note: If you have any libraries or locally cached data that you want to keep, temporarily store them somewhere until you get the situation fixed.

STEP 2: Once it is completely deleted, download iTunes 11.1 from Apple servers.

STEP 3: Download iTunes 11.1 from here.

STEP 4: Now connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to computer.

STEP 5: Click “restore”, it should present you with a notification saying a new version is available.

STEP 6: Simply Click download and install, and sit back and relax.

The process should be completed and your error 1669 should be fixed.

Same here. This is so frustrating that apple has not acknowledged the error, even just to say we are working on it. Its been a month since my phone died. I am never buying another iphone. When I first got my iphone 5 the cell and wifi kept dropping out. Took apple 3 weeks to solve the problem and quietly release a fix, without actually admitting it to anyone. Now with OS 7, the phone dies and cannot be recovered. Perhaps they will grace us with a fix before the new year. Do we need to sacrafice something on an altar first?

I have made an appointment with the apple store (2 hours away). As best as I can tell this is attributed to a hardware problem so it will not go away on its own (i.e. software update in ios or itunes). Since my phone was working fine except for the ios 7.0.2 bug that stopped the phone, I can only assume this is just a lazy apple blaming me for their mistake. The phone has been in an Otterbox since I bought it and has never been wet or dropped. So why suddenly a hardware problem. Where I come from this is called extortion. I will post after the visit this weekend with the results.

I canceled my appointment to save me 4 hours of driving. A local technicial fixes iphones and since I was out of warranty, I decided to see if there was something he can do rather than pay 279 for apple service. I had him disconnect-reconnect the battery and retry the recover. My hope was that a full power down may clear the issue, but no difference. It looks like a non-recoverable error with the motherboard.

So I think that there is nothing I can expect from apple (i.e. software) that will fix this issue. I was literally one week past warranty when this happened. I can only assume ios 7.0.2 was responsible, but I cannot prove it. So I will switch to an android phone. The experience is not as good as apple, but when you pay for a premium product you expect premium service and quality. Apple is neither.

OK everyone, here goes, after many hours on Chat with Apple Level 1 support, they escalated to senior phone support and just got off the phone with Spyros, Apple Senior Tech.

While updating to iOS7, like most others I guess, it fails leaving phone in recovery mode, my iphone was stopping at 'Restoring firmware' stage approx 2/3 into the overall restore.

Spyros says this is most likely a hardware fail - the fact that mine was unable to get a phone signal for the last few days with 'Searching' being shown in iOS6 just means iOS7 has probably detected this hardware issue and won't update. Mentions of water damage etc may all be valid. iOS7 rigourously checks the phone before updating. Regardless of which Mac I used, l got the same message. (OSX Mavericks 10.9, iTunes 11.1.3).

So it's a trip to the Apple Store to get a replacement under warranty or you can return for replacement.

If you're out of warranty, just speak to Apple Store nicely, they have a reputation for being understanding!

Hi! I have iphone 5s 16 gb. Was lost network and Internet. Also in the settings were gone firmware modem and imei. I was taken aback. Started to update the firmware of the phone through recovery. The error occurred 1669 and 1609. Through 11 times attempts I managed to return the phone of recovery. But network and Internet disappear again. Apple is not what it was before. They lose people's trust. SHAME!!!!
