Q: Help updating Apple TV

I updated my 2nd generation Apple Tv when I reconnected it yesterday. It had been working ok, but now only blinks rapidly and displays a picture of a mini usb cord reaching out to iTunes logo. I tried plugging it in to my computer, went to itunes but no luck. And the remote does nothing now. Help!

AppleTV 2, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Did you make sure to grab a micro usb cord and follow the steps, unplugging all cables before connecting to iTunes? Are you saying the device wasn't detected, there was an error during the restore or that it restored and the issue remains?
