In wiping my iMac's HD from the install disc - it made slow progress for 2 days but has stalled at about 80% complete. Why won't it finish and, has it wiped enough if I abort it now?
I am wiping my iMac's HD from the disc utility on the Install disc. I selected the 5-pass erase. The progress bar moved steadily for the first two days but has now stalled at about 80% + complete. Why has it stalled and will it have wiped enough if I abort the process now? (I separately verified the HD.)
