Q: Music not syncing after iOS 7 update

I updated to iOS7 on my iPhone 4 and less than half of my music is syncing to my phone. Any thoughts? I am already hating this update for more than one reason and this is adding icing to the cake...

I am at 11.1 on iTunes.  After restore I am syncing  with "find my phone" off.  After 10 minutes "Waiting for items to copy" went to "Copying 76...of 11039:" On Summary screen I have convert at 128 kbps checked nothing else under Options.  Under Music I have checked Sync Music and Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres.  I have selected specific playlists and artists.  Interesting that the blue audio bar shows "Audio 40.23 GB 11084 songs" while the Syncing Music to (step 5 of 5) says 11039.  I am showing 13.58 GB Free (space).  I am at 541 of 11039 now after half an hour.  2097 after one hour and ten minutes.  3118 after one hour and fifty minutes. 5899 after 3 hours. 7307 after 4 hour and 50 minutes.  Going to bed now.  Everything on the iPhone is playing as it should at this point.  7718 and counting.  7:00 am the next morning.  The top syncing music to reads... "waiting for items to copy" no longer show the progress.  when I go to the bottom of the Songs listing it shows downloading 11038 of...  It just now fisinshed the sync at 11090 songs.  Everything now seems to be ok.  The only thing I did different from yesterday was turn off Find My Phone.  Weird.

After spending WAY too much time troubleshooting a service that I pay for, I've determined that the issue is iTunes match not iOS 7. If I add a new playlist everything is fine. If I modify an old playlist the changes don't propagate. I've used the update iTunes Match option from the pull-down menu and even stopped & restarted Match. Nothing works. Very annoying.

I have tried just about all of these suggestions - without any luck at all. ( I am NOT doing the suggestions that require 13+ steps.)

My smartlists are "dumb".  Music in these lists do not match criteria.  This all happened when I updated to ios7.  thats the only change I made.

Thanks a lot Apple! You have ruined it for me. I use the music to train.

Now I'm moved on to Spotify!!

Why do I have this piece of crap iphone?

I have no idea what is happenning with the sync. Itunes 11.1 and IOS7. Most of the time it deletes any music on the IPAD that is not in itunes and will not sync when I restore the files to Itunes library. Some files will sometimes move across but in doing so will often create copies on the ipad but with the red square in a circle. Most times it just gets stuck on step 3 or 4. I think my record is 4 versions of each track. I manage music manually as I cannot fit everything on the IPAD. Now I've just connected and its telling me it has over 3500 tracks to copy. I've tried most of the solutions here, but have been reluctant to go back to automatic Sync because it tells me it will delete everything first.

    I wish I'd never gone near IOS7

Now finished syncing 3500 tracks and that has created an extra 1Gb of free space on the IPAD. I wonder what I've lost now. 29 tracks failed to sync and many that did have lost the artist information and artwork. Mostly where I have had to add it myself. I had tried restarting the computer as well as the Ipad, but found changing the USB port used made the difference. We'll just have to see if it stays OKish.

One things for sure, I'm not upgrading my iphone to 7

    hello guys,

    guess what i ve done?

    just do a little thing.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

    Read more: http://www.news.com.au/technology/smartphones/troubleshooting-for-struggling-app le-ios-7-users/story-fn6vihic-1226723564685#ixzz2gOxjto6I

the sites, may be not too relevant to my problem ("waiting to be applied" freeze, "00:00 music", "no sync on music"). but i managed to read trough it and found out the writing that suggest me to Reset All Setting.

after couple of minutes, waiting my iphone reset. i plugged again to my PC. and voila, it works without doing anything. been 2 days since i keep searching troughout internet to find the right answer.

My iPhone/iOS 7 isn't the problem. The problem I'm having is that playlists aren't updating in iTunes Match. If I modify a playlist on one computer no other computer or iOS device sees the changes. Even if I explicitly tell iTunes to update Match. New songs and albums are shared accross devices, but the playlists don't include them. For me, the whole iOS 7 aspect of this discussion was a red herring.

This is a h*ll! Steve must be p*ss*d off with this iOS 7, sh*t...! I did everything what you said since September, 19th and nothing worked to me. Settings restored, erase everything, lost a lot of info/music/playlists, check/uncheck options, files converted from mp3 to acc, USB ports changed, even looking song by song (about 5,000+ files) thinking that some troubled-song must be causing this mess... Nothing. Until today.

It seems to be that everyone with their own/same problem has found their own/particular solution. I have an iPad 2 64 GB WiFi+3G, iOS 7.0.2. Mines is just like this. Simply, but kinda annoying:

Just take a few songs from a previous playlist into another New Playlist with any name (i.e. From "Electro Set" to "New Electro List"). The name doesn't seems to be the trouble. Uncheck all the Summary Tab options. Leave a Security Copy on the PC/Mac, and only Check the "New Playlist" on the Music Tab. Then Sync only that New Playlist. Not even the photos or Apps, just the New Playlist. It works for me, until now, and I haven't finished to sync all my songs and playlists, but it seems to be solving my problem slowly, but securily.

I started to sync 20 songs firts, then 40, 80 and increasing with each sync. There was no problem accelerating and increasing the number of songs to transfer.

Sorry if my english isn't good, I'm from Mexico, but I wanted to give you all my little experience and help you, too with this trouble that is making us suffer, above all the ones like me that work depends on gadgets like these.

    Good luck, guys.

For those who just have single playlists not syncing - this may seem too simple, but do make sure the songs in the playlist are checked....  for some reason after the upgrade, in a couple of my playlists these were unchecked and didn't sync.

That wasn't my problem. Playlist simply wouldn't update.

The work-around I've found is to sign out of iTunes & Match then quit iTune. Next restart, log back in and turn on Match. This seems to actually force itunes to synch with Match. The "update match" pull-down option does nothing. This is a stupid hoop to jump through for a paid service.

"So I tried everything above, and finally found out what was causing my issue.  On your phone go to Music and select More at the bottom.  Under the Shared option, make sure your entire music library is selected.  My phone only had what I had purchased on my iphone selected, not my entire music library.  As soon as i choose Music Library all of my songs magically appeared, without having to sync again."

I notice on my iPhone 5 OS7 after sync the song did not appear so I did the above BUT in my case in Shared I had tick on "XY iPhone" and the other shared was "XY's Library" not ticked. So I clicked on the "XY's Library" and after a minute of wait the tick appear and so the new songs appered without having to sync.

It looks like the sync is working but it just shows certain shared songs only.

I was wrong in the post above. I was using the shared library and not the local songs on the iphone.

After plying with the sync for a some time the thing that solved it for me was the Manually "select playlist, artist, albums and genres under the Music tab in iTunes. I selected all the playlist only and it synced all the songs.
