Q: Music not syncing after iOS 7 update

I updated to iOS7 on my iPhone 4 and less than half of my music is syncing to my phone. Any thoughts? I am already hating this update for more than one reason and this is adding icing to the cake...

yep, that worked for me. thanks

    i had these issues:

songs added to playlists didn't copy

safari not keeping log on details

apps not storing favourite type data

    previously tried:

    unticking/ticking

    deleting playlists

restored phone from itunes as backup and as new phone

    manually managing files

    draging folders in

    enabled home sharing

reseting from iphone in settings is the only thing that has worked in the last 3 days of trying to fix.

This recommendation worked perfectly for me.  All of my song are synching after I selected manually manage music and videos.  Great suggestion, and thanks.

well, after all that it looked good. today i moved some songs into a playlist and it still doesn't sync properly. now had to do 2 more resets. still trying to resolve but it is ios7 issue (it is not you or your phone). apple need to sort this.

    Hi Guys,

I have the same problem with my iPhone 5, and I already figured it out... I just tried to deal with the check and uncheck sync music.. Ones my phone failed to attempt to sync I just forced the itunes to turn off then hard reset my phone..

I almost tried this 6 times and after that it worked properly.... Even I tried to sync now still my phone works properly!!!

Anyone noticing any difference after the iTunes 11.1.1 update?

    no.

after the 3rd reset of the phone, my music and video synced ok. since then i've managed to sync ok and modify current and new playlists. who knows what i0s7 will do next?

    darn.

I know I could just switch over to manually adding music, but I usually sync two smart playlists to my phone—one for albums added in the last six months, and one for songs not played within the last year. These automatically update and keep a nice rotation of music on and off my phone.

is extremely frustrating not to correct the failure of synchronization of music, and that no Apple takes a decision, it is assumed that I have my Touch 5G for music and could not synchronize eh no way Apple's forte music and it is not fair to pass this now with iTunes 11.1.1 just stays on "waiting for items to be copied" bad bad and very bad Apple!

I think that works a bit better, but also not fine. First I saw that the Realtime Update of the 2 Smart Playlists that I have leaved on the phone are self activated, then I think that Apple has solved the issue. Then I try to transfer a double CD with 36 songs. It seems to be stuck on Updating... with the songs names ghosted, as usually, but around a couple minutes after, when I'm looking the content of the Smart Playlist, the songs have been transferred. Then I try again with a CD with 10 songs. One more time seems to be stuck with the songs ghosted, I wait some minutes until my pacience is running out and cancel the update. Then I disconnect the phone and connect It to try again with the same result, then, when I'm looking the ghosted files on the iPhone y press the right button of the mouse and choose something like "searching the song names..." (now I'm on a PC without iTunes), then the music are transferred. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not but it was too late to make more experiments.

In order for my playlists to sync I had to remove one from the checked playlists to sync, wait for it to do that (ie, watching 500+ songs disappear from my phone), then pray that it re-added them once I clicked that specific list again. After a good 2 and a half hours of putzing around with this and reading every single reply, it finally worked. It added all the songs back. Just took forever.

I am beyond ****** right now. I had to restore my iPod last night, then it started taking songs. Now, I have to ******* restore it again because it's doing the waiting for changes to be applied. **** you Apple. maybe you should fix your ******* bugs before releasing updates on the public. I should have stayed with ios 6.

totally with you there. wish i could go back. i used to have a useable phone and music player. i have tried all the things on this and other forums and it only works to solve the job of copying music and media initially.

there isn't any pattern to it. yesterday i created a new playlist named 'test sync', added tracks and synced ok. today i added a new song into itunes and now syncing does not work.

once again i had to erase the phones content and made it like a new phone out of the box, synced it from the backup and synced everything over (for 4th time now).

now i'm back to square one, no syncing again.

people can try and suggest all sorts of tricks but it's the ios that is the issue here.
