Oct 31, 2013 7:03 PM in response to yax412by namonai,I've had an iPhone since the 3gs, but this is it. The Podcast app has been horrible since iOS 6, and with this sync bug I haven't been able to keep my iPod shuffle sync'd with my iPhone for a month now. It's time to move on -- just ordered the Nexus 5 today. So long, Apple -- maybe the iPhone 6 will be better.

Nov 1, 2013 3:38 AM in response to yax412by Overlord666,You people are lucky!
I can't even manually manage songs on iTunes!
I drag the song to my device (iPhone) on the right-hand side of the iTunes window... but the song takes a long, long time to transfer... and nothing.
iPhone 4 (with iOS 7.0.3) and iTunes 11.1.2.31

Nov 1, 2013 5:45 AM in response to yax412by Cooleet,After almost 2 months, i already know the reason why my songs/playlist in latest itunes do not sync with ipad 4 after upgrading to IOS 7 even if these songs/playlist were in my ipad when it was still IOS 6.
IOS 7 do not recognize nor sync songs which have special characters in the details of the songs ( artist name, title, type, etc.). That is the reason why when i tried syncing songs/playlist, some playlist worked and some don't.
To solve this problem, here's how:
1. Open your itunes and choose your music library.
2. Choose a playlist on the left side of the menu and/or choose the songs viewed on the right side of the screen.
3. Check the detail of the songs by choosing a song, then right click>choose "Get info"
4. A menu will appear which contains several tabs (summary, info, video, sorting, options, lyrics, artwork)
5. Choose "info" tab.
6. Now check on the details of the song (name, artist, album artist, album, grouping, composer, comments, etc.)
If it contains any special charater like o, @, or any other ascii characters, delete that character and click ok.
Once finished, try to sync the songs or playlist again.
Hope this helps.

Auto syncing should now work.

Nov 1, 2013 6:14 AM in response to Cooleetby hklovers,oh my god......the 2 "corrupted" songs are in the same album and got a weird sign in the details page, once delete, sync perfectly......
But his type if error don't use to affect ios6 or 5
beside, last night i restore ios7 and then restore from backup......just to delete 2gb of "others" data on the iphone but apps on itunes cannot transfer over.....the sync cancel itself at step 3 where it starts tranfering apps to the iphone(have not start installing yet)......so i have to get into app store on iphone, find them and install them by hand .......then re-start sync......then photos sync just stop the sync after 200 photos......re-start sync and it transfer all photo again......
this king od inconsistence is not good at all, Apple

Nov 1, 2013 6:23 AM in response to hkloversby Cooleet,Yes, IOS 6 and below still can sync those songs even if it has special characters in its details.
Maybe it is just a part of their upgrading... Try to check all your songs saved in your itunes library and delete the special characters. After you are done with it, try to sync all your files again. If it works, you can now try auto syncing.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Nov 1, 2013 9:02 AM in response to Cooleetby POM73,This does not explain why in my case ALL SONGS and PLAYLISTS sync perfectly if I uncheck music sync in itunes, sync and all music is deleted from iPhone. Then I check Music sync in itunes again, sync and all playlists are syncing. The problem appears if you -for example- have playlist A on your iphone and you add new songs to the playlist in itunes and then sync tehm with your iphone or if you wanna add new playlists or songs.. Then these newly added songs do not sync. Besides checking thousands of songs for totally arbitrary symbols which may -or may not- cause the Problem is no option.
And by the way I did not have these problems when I updated to iOs 7. It appeared in the last 2-3 weeks.
This is so unacceptable by Apple. No support whatsoever regarding the fact, that the individual syncing and modificating of itunes playlists is a major feature of the iphone as a multimedia device.

Nov 1, 2013 10:36 AM in response to yax412by JBaDiver,Ok, the problem is only for the iPhone. My iPad does not exhibit this behavior. Some albums (essentially those I have on CD and did not purchase through iTunes) will not go on to the iphone. Right now that is over 200 songs with over 35 Gig on my phone available. I've tried removing them using iTunes (doesn't work as the phone refuses to let them go - seems it is only cloud centric) I'm still checking but as of right now. What is happening is that if the music is not in the cloud, the sync with iTunes on your computer is useless. It only gets the music from the cloud and will not take it from the computer. This is a major bug. Either that or they are trying to force people to pay $24.99 to get their music from their mac to their phone with iTunes Match.

Nov 1, 2013 11:52 AM in response to JBaDiverby RobertSch6,That's exactly the problem I have been having since last weekend. Yesterday, though, I tried one of the suggestions in this forum and it worked (at least for now). After connecting my iPhone to my PC and to iTunes:
- I unchecked the "Sync Music" option.
- I clicked "Apply." (You may need to be patient because this took a while for me, as it got stuck for quite some time of "Waiting For Changes to Be Applied," but it finally finished. I think it was around 20-30 minutes.)
- I then re-checked the "Sync Music" option and clicked "Sync." (It then took some more time - maybe 15-20 minutes - but then I finally started seeing the tracks being copied back to my iPhone.)
It took about two hours altogether to copy the 4,800+ tracks. I've randomly tried playing them from my iPhone, and they've all worked so far.
I hope this works for you too.

Nov 1, 2013 12:47 PM in response to RobertSch6by JBaDiver,No, this did not correct it. I went through my phone and found that of the 4623 songs that I have in iTunes, only 805 are actually on my phone. I've tried it twice the sync has stopped and it's been over half an hour and the song count has not changed. I really think this is a software problem showing prefrence for music purchased through iTunes. All 5 U2 albums are gone except for the one song I downloaded from iTunes. And again, this is not the case for the iPad. In order to get the phone to recognize it only had 805, I had to have it try to play every song...it zipped along not finding over 3500 songs...
This clearly is a problem in the iPhone software using the cloud for syncing, and the cloud utilizing iTunes purchased links for actuatl storage rather than actually storing the actual songs that were on my phone.

Nov 1, 2013 1:13 PM in response to JBaDiverby RobertSch6,I'm sorry that didn't work for you. I just double-checked my phone, and I confirmed that it did sync the tracks that I have ripped from my personal CD collection and that are not available through iTunes (e.g., After Forever, Platinum Blonde, Garth Brooks). But everything you mention sounds exactly like what I was experiencing - including my having tried to play every song with the phone just zipping through them and not finding most of them - except those I had purchased via iTunes.
I agree that there must be some significant software issues that Apple really needs to address. It shouldn't be this difficult to do something as simple as sync our music to our phone.
