Nov 1, 2013 7:59 PM in response to RobertSch6by LenVan,I only encountered this problem after upgrading to iOS 7.0.3. Apple support was minimally useful. She did not solve my problem but pointed me in the direction of the format of the music files. After I checked the box in iTunes telling it to convert the files to 128 bit AAC all my music was transferred - even the videos that should not have been affected by this change.

Nov 1, 2013 9:40 PM in response to LenVanby flightmedic752,I also converted all my music to AAC. I am still missing songs. Also, when I play them, some of them fast forward and go missing from the playlist, like they are corrupted. But, they play fine in iTunes and they were converted by iTunes. So I am at a loss.
When I finished the sync it showed 6290 songs. Today, it shows 5600.

Nov 1, 2013 10:06 PM in response to yax412by marquinho.j,I simply ticked "Manually manage music and videos" on the Summary page of iTunes when connected to my iPhone5, and after clicking "sync", everything (finally) seemed in order. This is with up to date iOS (7.0.3) and iTunes (11.1.2), and using a physical cable between my mac and phone (not sure if same would have worked over wi-fi).

Nov 2, 2013 11:05 AM in response to Endoviperby cowboyfood,Thanks, I did what you suggested and music on computer (itunes) and iphone 5 now match.
I still have manage my music checked, and "manually" sync the iphone and itunes. I'll check sync music and see what happens.
I noticed that some update (itunes I'm thinking) checked many things I didn't have checked in itunes, under the iphone device, in both the "summary" page and "music" page, such as how I sync and manage music, albums, songs.
I literally followed all of Endoviper's steps, except for very last one (checking sync) and now things are working agian.
me = iphone 5, latest ios and itunes

Nov 2, 2013 11:27 AM in response to yax412by pteman,My iPhone 4S was also not syncing movies, which was the first thing I noticed. Then I noticed the missing music and the iTunes getting stuck at "waiting to adapt changes" without nothing syncing.
I tired resetting my iPhone and restoring to the back up but then iTunes said it was over capacity with "other" data but the phone actually was half empty.
I fixed my phone today by resetting to factory setting and installing as a new phone. I then added things back selectively. For the music, I deleted a bunch of music I don't listen to and then checked add only checked music and then entire library. It worked. Music is all back. Movies back. I spent the morning putting all my apps back. I had some issues with reinstalling gmail but that's a separate issue. I figured that out too - the two step verification was messing things up so I turned it off.
I think I spent about 4 hours on this. Thanks apple.

Nov 2, 2013 12:17 PM in response to yax412by Trevski180,Have to say this issue is really annoying not to mention the noticeable design flaw now with music on iphone with the last IOS.7.0.3. I.e before when you created a playlist on your iphone you could add songs to that playlist from other playlists on ur phone. You could also/ had option to add multiple songs at one time. Now you have completely lost that ability and you can only add songs from songs list or albums and even then you have to add each song one by one. How on earth can this be an improvement. Off course understand you always gonna encounter some bugs/issues, but I'm personally getting more and more discouraged with still using Apple now with this continuing spate of issues and general design blunders.

Nov 2, 2013 4:38 PM in response to yax412by PhatLu,So after trying to resolve this issue for a better part of the day...Tried the following:
1. Restoring iPhone from backup
Result: Did not work
2. Deleting all playlists from iPhone and re-syncing
Result: Did not work
3. Re-Authorizating my Mac
Result: Did not work
4. Made sure all my settings were correct to manage my own playlists
5. Delete all but 1 of my iPhone back up via iTunes, and renamed that one file and placed it in a secondary location, sync'd and created a new backup
Result: Did not work.
6. Created new playlists via Duplicate option in iTunes
Result: Did not work
7. Reinstalled iTunes
Result: Did not work
8. Recovered backup of iPhone from a week ago via Time Machine
Result: Did not work
9. Deleted all voice memos
Result: did not work
I did read on a post and saw some success with this:
10. Unchecked Sync & deleted all my music off, unplug, and re-sync and check back Sync for music.
Result #1: This eventually brought back my playlists onto my device, however, (This is the most important) playlists were not updating from the changes I would make to them, or when I try to import a new playlist to my device.
Result #2: I would go into iTunes and when i select my device and select "On my Phone" I could see the playlists that sync'd correctly and the ones that didn't (The ones that didn't sync were grayed out)
Result #3: Syncing 2K+ songs this way is way too difficult, if I wanted to make changes to my playlists over and over again.
Result #4: WAS NOT going to accept this as the fix, as it was the only work around.
Attempt #11 finally resolve the issue for me.
I decided to recreate my iTunes Libary & Playlist.
Follow the instructions in the Knowledge article below and after you plug your device back into your Mac, you will need to allow iTunes to select your mac to conduct your back ups. After this, you'll be able to make modifications to your playlist and it'll sync like before within iTunes

Nov 3, 2013 3:07 AM in response to SkylerDanielsby allmeads,I just want to confirm that what SkylarDaniels suggested worked for me. I am running OS 7.0.3 and after I installed this update, any new music downloaded into iTunes would not sync to my phone. So. I would suggest updating to 7.0.3 first. Then follow SkylarDaniels recommended procedure. It will take a few minutes, so be patient. when I re-synced my iPhone to iTunes, all of the musice in iTunes that previously would not sync, was on my phone. Give this another shot, folks, but update to 7.0.3 first.

Nov 3, 2013 5:47 AM in response to yax412by Anxious,It appears the fix that worked for me was checking "Manually manage music and videos". I was able to sync my complete iTunes library after doing this.
iOS 7.0.3
Latest iTunes build 11.1.2 (31)

Nov 3, 2013 5:53 AM in response to LenVanby RobertSch6,It doesn't look like having the files in the AAC format should matter. At the same time that most of my music files were not syncing with my iPhone, there were a few that were MP3s that I had purchased from Amazon that still played fine on the phone.

Nov 3, 2013 10:01 AM in response to PhatLuby NMChristoban,Finally Fixed!!
Having been on this discussion since the iOS 7.0 and itunes 11 release with broken devices I am very thankful to PhatLu for posting the fix that has Finally resolved this issue!
Recreating the iTunes Library database and playlist .xml files seems to have resolved the issue. This also explains why it was broken across all devices. Something had happened that corrupted the iTunes Library database (.itl file).
Following the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1451 was pretty painless and actually took as much time as they way we [lately] have been syncing playlist changes by recopying the entire music list.
After rebuilding the iTunes Library database and playlist (xml file) the initial syncs take a while as you need to sync and remove all songs, then copy the itunes songs back on to the device as the device sees it as a new itunes connection, but after that is done, changes to playlists take just a very short time as expected.
Thank you all for your efforts and congrats on finding the fix here. This was an epic FAIL for apple and their lack of response to the pleas for help from this forum.

Nov 3, 2013 1:41 PM in response to yax412by OliChabot,Still not working for me. Apple needs to fix it ASAP because if I had any other product, I would be able to simply drag n' drop my songs like a USB drive onto my iPhone. But since Apple loves to jail us, we have to use iTunes. and what happens when iTunes doesn't worth **** ? We're screwed and have to wait and work your ***** off like chickens to find a solution by ourselves because Apple cannot give us any.
Thank you so much.

Nov 3, 2013 2:01 PM in response to NMChristobanby simplysounds, although i had my phone sorted, this seemed logical but it totally screwed up my phone again.

Nov 3, 2013 7:01 PM in response to JennRockkby your_boy_los,Tenth post on this thread.
iPhone 5s still working perfectly with no issues since day one.
4s however still won't sync. I've tried every suggestion at least 3 time.
What a joke.
Device: iPhone 4S
iTunes. Up to date.
This is so ridiculous.
