Seems every Apple update i say holy sh*t and its getting really old. I'm greatful for everyones post but the customers are doing and paying way too much fo rthis product. I'm one update not working away from scrapping apple all together. It's going to happen so I'm looking into other phones, sorry I stayed loyal as long as I could....

I've tried a ton of suggestions after reading this forum and none of them seem to work. I have also tried some trouble shooting with Apple Tech Support.

This seems to work best, it seems to have worked several times for me at least because I resync music a lot..

    1. De-select sync Music and Tones on the sync tabs of your iPhone and Apply, removing all tracks.

    2. When syncing is finished, Re-select those tabs and sync again.

I have a large music library of over 30,000 songs and over 8400 sync onto my phone, but I can't tell is volume is a reason for any of the issues. New to the music app on the Artists page is a "stock photo" of the artist from the iTunes store, so it makes me wonder if trying to search and load all those photos is dragging it down.

    Good Luck and Na zdrowie!

When I try to sync music to my iPhone songs that I have purchased on iTunes sync but my songs from cd's don't  sync to my phone

I will use my old iPod touch for my music now. After it dies I buy  the I pod classic for my music. I won't have to worry about updates.

So, I tried removing all of my music from the iPad and trying to re-synch...which it won't. So, now I am trying to restore from a previous backup to see if that works. I cannot believe they would release software with such problems. I am also seeing a huge block of "Other" that is literally taking up 12 GB of my iPad at the moment. I miss Steve Jobs. This is really going to effect customer loyalty.

Right now I suspect that this problem has something to do with new iCloud features in the iOS7 Music app.

Has anyone looked into whether this syncing issue might result from having iTunes Store purchases that were bought under a different Apple ID than the Apple ID that the iPhone/iPad is signed into?

  • Cleomobile Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

I've never had a different Apple ID.

I'm now having problems watching tv shows on Apple TV.

I noticed this sync problem recently when I just happened to notice that one of my playlists on my iPhone 5 had the wrong number of tracks. Then when I looked, of course, I realised that so did ALL of them, sometimes as few as half the right number.

As to the cause, that's not clear, especially as the ios7 upgrade, new iTunes and, in my case, a replacement phone becuase of a fault on the power switch, all happened at around the same time.

As for a solution, I was fumbling around with all the ones on offer here before a couple of days ago when I took the plunge and did a full restore (with c.11000 tracks to go back onto the phone bumped down to 128k I was reluctant to do this unless absolutely necessary). As 7.0.4 had just been released I restored and then let the new version go on before I put my back up on. Then I added my playlists one by one and checked the track numbers each time. As I have one playlist that then adds around 8000 tracks at random from my library, I left that until last.

So far, fingers crossed, everything is back to where it should be; I have all the playlists, they are all the right number of tracks and a couple of new albums I've added this morning have synced correctly. We'll see if this lasts, but of course I can't now tell if the restore did the trick or the 7.0.4 update.

Unless it was the update this really is unacceptable from Apple. Music is the cornerstone of what they provide and a simple thing thing like syncing correctly is absolutely essential. Let's hope this is the end of it.

Edit - just remembered - I also had an aborted attempt at using Match just before the issues started. I had to get a refund from Apple as my library wouldn't completely upload (that's another story) but I did wonder if that was part of the problem?

Has anyone else found that ALAC (Apple Lossless) files will not sync from iTunes to iOS any more? Or play on iOS? These are not HD files, just standard 16 bit 44.1k ALAC files.

I called Apple Support in the UK and incredibly the iOS helpline guy had never heard of Apple Lossless (I had to spell it for him), and he then told me it is not a valid file format for iOS. I have synced many times using iOS6... no idea whether this is a Mavericks issue (of which I have many, being a Gmail user) or an iOS issue, or whether this is a real downgrade or just a mistake. But how can an organisation release an OS that won't play its own file format, and have tech support people who don't know what they are talking about?

Come on Cook, Apple is not invulnerable. You too can go the way of Blackberry and Kodak: if you keep screwing with formerly fanatical customers like me and releasing nothing but broken updates to previously lovely products, we WILL switch away.

I have an Iphone 4S and recently upgraded to OS 7.0.3.  After my initial sync with my conputer, I have the same music problem that others have discussed.  I don't use ICloud to back up so the problem doesn't seem to be related to that.  My backup is stored on my computer.  It seems that only songs downloaded from Apple sync now.  All others added from a CD show up with a small red box inside a circle next to the song or album title and do not play.  Those songs are still on my Itunes on the computer and can be played from there.  I have also noticed that all the videos stored on Itunes do not sych as well and none of them play, although they all appear on my video list.

I also received the endless "Waiting for changes to be applied" message and finally let the phone sit overnight connected to my computer to sync.  In the morning, the message was gone, but no changes occured with the Iphone.  I still have songs that wont play and no video on the phone.  Although the titles for individual songs and albums remain on my music list, the musin is not on the phone. After sync the amount of memory I had available on the Iphone was much greater than before, so something was erased from the phone related to the music and videos

I just updated my iPad to 7.0.4 and my music and videos couldn't sync any more. It hasn't happened before the update. It only happened after.

VERY unhappy about this bug, and NO reasonable soln (note: I do not consider that basically wiping my entire phone just to sync a couple of tracks is in any way a reasonable solution). Already several updates of iTunes and not one of them addresses the issue, and apple do NOTHING to solve it or even admit to it.

HOW CAN ANYONE STICK AROUND WITH SUCH AN INCOMPETENT COMPANY AS THIS?!?!? I'm am out of the door, this company is sinking and deserves not one further penny of my hard earned money.

  • macjay27 Level 1 Level 1 (10 points)

IOS 7.0.4 screwed the syncing from my itunes to my iphone 5. Tried everything, went to the apple store. The only thing they told me is : it's a bug with the new update (7.0.4), you'll have to wait until the next update... it better be soon and working... We pay extra money for our devices to work easily and i cant put one ****ing song.

  • lisakate08 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

well I guess I have to wait until I can sync music to my phone?! Between this and the removal of the ability to make playlists from playlists on my phone...I dont know, Apple.

iphone 5c, ios 7.0.4, wont sync music, says waiting for changes to be applied. hangs. no sync. sad.
