Sep 24, 2013 12:32 AM in response to rcc174by jdomke1,To get shared working you need to go into iPhone settings, Music, then log in at the bottom into your apple account... that worked for me. The verdict is still out on the entire collection showing up finally.

Sep 24, 2013 12:58 AM in response to rcc174by slee204488,"Shared" feature in Music app came out if I turned on "Home Sharing" in my iTunes File menu.
After this, I did Clevergirl's method. It took a while. Maybe because I have about 25,000 songs in my iTunes.
Finally, I tried to sync two playlists containing 400 songs. The sync got cancelled after 150 more songs.
This "Home Sharing" feature is just for your iPhone to access your whole music in your iTunes, I guess.

Sep 24, 2013 6:19 AM in response to yax412by wilmawarrior,I'm having syncing issues after "upgrading" to ios 7. My playlists are not correct. I have smart playlists that are not following rules at all. Playlists are smart on mac, but do not sync onto iphone. I've deleted list and re-created it and it still does not work. Any thoughts on how to fix?

Sep 24, 2013 6:35 AM in response to slee204488by Lilinss,OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! This worked for me !!
I turned the Home Sharing on on my phone Settings > Music > Home Sharing and then I synced and it still stayed stuck at "Waiting for changes to be applied". And then I also turned the Home Sharing on on my iTunes : File > Home Sharing. The syncing is still stuck but all my songs finally appeared on my phone !!

Sep 24, 2013 10:55 AM in response to clevergirl929by Modohsoj,Thank you that worked! Been going crazy. For anyone wondering how to get "Shared" to show up on iPhone make sure home sharing is selected on your itunes. May have to sign in and out of itunes account for it to work 100%. either way great tip! works every time don't even have to resync.

Sep 24, 2013 1:50 PM in response to yax412by SkylerDaniels,Although Clevergirl's post is great, it is a temporary fix to a problem I hope Apple is currently working to fix. I just shared my feedback about this specific issue. Maybe if more of us do, they will get the idea that this is a problem for a lot of us.

Sep 24, 2013 1:59 PM in response to yax412by davesilberman,Was having the same issue on my 4s -- music would not sync at all, and iTunes would be stuck in an endless sync that's not doing anything.
The solution for me was to use the "Restore iPhone" button in iTunes to restore the phone to factory settings. Once I did that, music started syncing right away.
This is a DRASTIC STEP. It will erase all your apps, and you will have to re-download them. Thankfully, they were backed up to iCloud.
MAKE SURE YOU DO A MANUAL BACKUP BEFORE YOU RESTORE!!! You will regret it if you don't. Back up to your computer, not iCloud! Do a full, encrypted backup that way, and restore from that after the phone comes back.
Give yourself a half hour at least to do this.Good luck!

Sep 24, 2013 5:24 PM in response to davesilbermanby slee204488,Unfortunately, restoring iPhone didn't work for me. Syncing got cancelled after a few hundred songs.
Also, "Home Sharing" method is temporary.
Syncing songs without using Playlists is temporay, too.
I hope Apple has a fix for this.

If you are restoring a backup after restoring the iPhone, try setting up as a new device instead. That's what I had to do to get my Touch working reliably again for syncing and music.

Sep 24, 2013 6:16 PM in response to slee204488by k-pak05,Yeah, unfortunately I discovered that the 'sharing' fix was temporary when I walked out of my house this morning. It ony works when your in the proximity of your Mac/PC ... eg: 'Home Sharing' ... should have figured right?
I guess it's back to square one ... Apple hit us with a bug fix update! 7.0.1 ...

Sep 24, 2013 6:24 PM in response to k-pak05by Modohsoj,The restore worked for me and 3500 songs. Tried EVERYTHING only restore worked.

Sep 24, 2013 8:27 PM in response to k-pak05by Vedaloman,Having my iTunes music on my phone is the only reason I do not have the superior Galaxy phone and now they give us an update that does not allow us to get out itunes music on our **** phone! I think they really need to work on their programming much better before they come out with it! Anyone remember the horrific iPhone maps intro????
Are their Apple customers really that unimportant to them? Would Jobs have allowed this?

Sep 24, 2013 9:59 PM in response to k-pak05by rcc174,Yep I found the same thing as k-pak05. Once I left my house or shut down my computer, it went back to the playlists without all my songs. And every time it reconnects to my home network when my iTunes is running, I have to go into sharing and manually select my Library to get them to all showup. It also now shows ALL my playlists in iTunes, not just the ones that are supposed to be syncing to my phone (which is a subset of all my playlists).
Interestingly, the songs that I was missing from my main playlist before I figured out the temporary fix were all actually on my phone and I could play them. They just were missing from any playlist that they were supposed to be in.
Apple, update please!!!

Sep 25, 2013 5:25 AM in response to yax412by StreeX,Nothing has worked for me.
Unfortunately I cannot do a hard restart either as the lock screen button has 'sunk' on my iphone 4, so therefore does not work at all.
I am not happy with trying a 'restore' as there is no guarantee that will work.
I have 9 months left on my contract, with a broken lock screen button and now no music.
Apple you need to sort this out asap.
