Dec 6, 2013 10:49 AM in response to yax412by ryandickey,Here is what fixed the problem for me - a workaround I found in another thread:
For all smart playlists, add the criterion Playlist is Music.
No idea why this works, but everything has synced fully and properly since.

Dec 6, 2013 10:50 AM in response to mslevby DeludedBrit,AppleCare and those " advisors" (senior or not) are a complete waste of time...the very fact that they had the audacity to claim to me they were unaware of the problem tells me everything.
It's outrageous that after all this time since the problems were being posted on sites like this that they have done NOTHING to correct them.
They just don't care...and that's disgraceful.
I've been loyal to Apple for countless years but no more.
Perhaps a legal angle might be pursued?...it's their software upgrade and their hardware not being fit for purpose due solely to their incompetence and negligence.

Dec 7, 2013 7:25 AM in response to ryandickeyby datbates,Turning my passcode off and then back on triggered iTunes to bring up the question "Do you want to remove all your music, podcasts, tones ... and sync with this computer". After answering yes I was finally back in business over Wi-Fi and usb. I would think this means it is an issue with the new security stuff on ios 7. I also reset my warnings as well, and it was nice to see some of the minor issues.
At any rate, one vote for this fix. Hopefully they can find the bug and squash it in 7.1.

Dec 7, 2013 8:49 AM in response to datbatesby BlindTrevor,I unchecked the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" and switched off the passcode on my iPhone. The I unchecked the Sync Music option.. hit appy and then checked the syn music option... suddenly it bounced into life and has started copying my library!
What a polava... come on apple, pull your finger out!

Dec 8, 2013 6:06 AM in response to yax412by spiffoiow,I had this problem with my iphone. It affected all the devices i tried syncing.
I eventually tracked it down to a single track i had imported into itunes which was causing the sync to foul up after a few seconds each time, even though it worked fine in itunes.
If you can remember the rough time the error started happening, i recommend trying to exlude that batch from the sync process and seeing if there are any problems then.
Hope it works for you!

Dec 8, 2013 1:20 PM in response to mslevby lt55,To everyone on this thread,
I was sucessful in syncing using the avenue of getting a code from Apple Remote for the iTunes library. I thought I was sorted, but upon adding one new item the sync failed again and sat at waiting for changes to be applied. So I agree with everyone on this thread you might get a workaround to work once or twice, but as soon as anything changes it fails again.
Apple this is pretty poor. Just look at the number of people who have read this thread and who have bothered to reply and contribute. It is a substantial number. The agaenda has to be economic, don't rock the Christmas market by admitting that there is a fundamental glitch in a basic functionality i.e. the ability to sync your device with iTunes.

Dec 8, 2013 4:09 PM in response to lt55by wilkiecoco2,Well, just add one more to the list. I cannot believe there is no solution and Apple ignores the problem. I have a perty coming up this weekend. First, it hot stuck on "waiting for changes", so I tried one of the suggested solutions and lost half my music, then I tried another solution, and lost the other half. Wow!! This is a real problem, APPLE!!!!, ANYBODY THERE? Do they have a facebook page? Maybe we can mount a protest there?

Dec 8, 2013 6:33 PM in response to yax412by agentgraves,I too am having the same difficulty. This is ridiculous as the simple transfer of not-so-large music files between a 2013 PC laptop and a 5th gen iPod touch should not be impossible to accomlish using the newest version of iTunes and the newest version of iOS 7. Apparently, however, it is impossible and this is extremely frustrating...

Dec 9, 2013 4:39 PM in response to bannsby paulroberts54,Spoke to a lady today who said her iphone5 "..synced automatically over iCloud, all my iTunes's music".
Maybe they are pushing everyone toward only having itunes sales on their apple devices ;D
Just a thought . I also only have iphone 4 as opposed to 5 but never had an issue until ios7 and am afraid to touch my playlists etc right now. Ridiculous.

Dec 9, 2013 9:50 PM in response to yax412by Bolove,After reading all these post and trying everything to get my 4s to work, I've given up. None of the music that I use to have on my 4s will sync. Super frustrating bc I have never had any problems with any of my apple products until now, & all my systems are fully up to date. Apparently, there is still no solution for this madness. I was planning on setting up an appt to go to my nearest apple store, but I have a feeling they won't be able to help me. I've done everything!!!!

Dec 9, 2013 9:53 PM in response to yax412by flightmedic752,A full factory reset and setting up as new, used the remote app fix and kept findmyiphone off and it worked. The full sync worked. And now I'm able to update my playlists as I add and purchase items.
