Mar 10, 2014 2:42 PM in response to Take_a_Guessby Take_a_Guess,One other thing - none of these fixes will solve the smart playlist problem. Smart playlists just seem broken when transferred from iTunes to iOS, and I don't know why.

Mar 10, 2014 3:43 PM in response to RobertSch6by simplysounds,1st of all, i must stress i would not be doing this if the ios7 worked as all the previous ios worked. i have owned apple portable devices since the 1st gen ipods.
since ios7 i have spent 100 hours of my time (over two weeks work). i talked to apple senior tech (paul reyes) in california on several occasions. sent sync logs/videos/etc etc, tried all the work arounds, scanned my mp3s with front end, rebuilt libraries, reinstalled itunes and windows 8, reset from backups and clean reset and synced all without the same results. after every update i have had to try resets from backup and sync from factory resets. there is no one thing/pattern to get the phone to finally sync my music & videos.
if it was corrupted media content or files surely it last ios7 update i couldn't sync from the backup and had to try 4-5 times as a factory reset. i can't go through this over and over evrytime there is an update or wait any longer for a fix. this is why have moved away from the iphone.
for what it's worth i have friends that have 4's and 5's and report no sync issues at all.
got the note 3 two days ago so on a steep learning curve.
tried various itunes to android sync apps/software:
mobilego (free): crashed my system
doubletwist (free): slow and un-intuitive
isyncr (free trial version only allows 100 songs transfer): the best of the bunch (paid £2.99 for the full version)
it's been a learning curve for sure but isyncr did the job. it loads and then launches itunes. it scans itunes and then you can select playlists/artists/albums you wish to sync and where you want them saved (phone memory or micro sd memory card). it means i can still use itunes, it just takes a little bit longer to get it all going.
now i have the 6000+ tracks on my note3 and the 125 playlists. i have also simplified the screens on the note to make it feel more like the iphone.
conclusion: all these itunes/android sync programs are good for playlists and music tracks. when it comes to movies and photos they will only copy over all photos and videos in the itunes library. you can't choose which movies/photos as you can do in itunes/iphone sync. i've had to put selected video & photos on the sd card using copy/paste/drag/drop.
the note is just great. very nice screen. lots of free android apps. i have all the apps for free that i had to pay for on my iphone with apple. now i have all my media on my note. it's now the same as my iphone.
the note 3 makes my iphone 4s feel like a nokia 6110.
i will be keeping the note 3 and outing the iphone. if this post gets pulled then you know apple are monitoring (but maybe not listening)

Mar 10, 2014 3:39 PM in response to simplysoundsby sidderke,I really hoped that 7.1 would fix the issue. I thought fixing this bug would be one of the reasons the update took so long.
But no avail. Still waiting for changes to be applied.
This is crazy. Over 7 months with this problem.
I tried every solution mentioned in this thread and more (working on a Mac).
An older 4s has it. A brand New ipad air has it.
I live in Europe and paid good money to have large storage devices. A 64GB iPhone, 850€, and a 128 GB ipad air, also 800 € for the ipad. Both are 70 percent empty Because Music just won't sync.
I'm a big Apple user, with 2 MacBook pro's, an iMac, on my 3rd iPhone, my second ipad and An iMac.
But this is crazy. Just crazy.
And to think that An old ipad 1 on iOS 5 syncs all the Music without any problems at all...

Mar 10, 2014 4:02 PM in response to simplysoundsby maxundmilian,@ simplysounds,
thanks for the info about how to transfer to android, since I'm thinking about going for that option as well. Still love my macbook and some of the fantastic apps that only will run on it, but the iOS 7 problems are rediculous. Can't believe apple won't fix this.

Mar 10, 2014 4:54 PM in response to yax412by Souwester,Having had issues with my old 4S 64Gb I've just upgraded to a 5S 64Gb, and having backed up the 4 to the computer, the new5S appears to be syncing seemlessly and rather quickly. Having installed apps and tones, it's now syncing music , currently on 92 of 9232 and progressing swiftly :-)
And that's on 7.0.4 on the phone. I haven't upgraded it yet!
Fingers crossed that all the music will be on the ohone when it finishes.

Mar 10, 2014 6:35 PM in response to Take_a_Guessby Kristen Scott,Sorry to use this thread for this, but I tried long ago to get OUT of this discussion by unchecking the box to keep receiving notifications, and now I'm getting emails again. Can anyone please tell me how to not get anymore emails from this?
By the way, I posted a while back that the trick of deleting my .Mac account on the phone and then syncing music worked for me on my iPhone 4S, if that helps anyone. You just re-sign in again after syncing. It seems that the account was interfering somehow, according to the person who first posted the solution.
I'd really like to go away from this discussion now....

on the top of this page, click on the name of your account. In the Profile Tab you have, on the right, somewhere Manage Email Subscriptions. There you can remove it.

Mar 12, 2014 1:21 PM in response to Rattlehead18by Harry Brindley,@Rattlehead18 Does the iOS 7.1 upgrade fix the problem we're having? Maybe so.
I orginally had the problem on my iPad. It started with videos and then it affected my music as well. After many months of working at it I fixed my iPad's issues by reconfiguring the Remote app and Home Sharing on iTunes (documented elsewhere in this epic thread).
More recently my iPhone 5, which always synced properly after the iOS 7 upgrade, started having issues keeping music and video in sync. Today I upgraded my iPhone to iOS7.1 and the missing music and videos have synched right up as they should, not too much waiting for changes and not hanging on cancel as my iPad still does. So, I'm hopeful there's a fix in here which will benefit us all.
I'd really like to hear from somebody who had this intractable problem since the iOS7 upgrade now confirm that 7.1 does indeed fix their sync issues. My recent issues with iPhone may not be the same chronic problem which is the subject of this thread.

Mar 12, 2014 7:00 PM in response to yax412by jflowers006,Guys,
I've been having this problem for the last few months. Tried literally everything and could not get it to work. For some odd reason, I thought to try a different USB cable to see if that was the problem and my entire iTunes library is now synced onto my iPhone 5. I ditched the factory Apple USB to lightning cable for a Belkin one and it's working fine. Try this and let me know if it works. Best of luck to everyone!

Mar 13, 2014 8:12 AM in response to Rattlehead18by njfish1,Worked for me. Not only did it finally solve the sync issue but it also fixed all of the "ghost" songs, most likely the same issue.

Mar 13, 2014 10:32 AM in response to Rattlehead18by River_OSX,FYI - just updated my girlfriends configuration (which wasn't sync'ing iTunes playlists) to Mac iTunes 11.1.5 last weekend (didn't fix the issues). Updated to iOS 7.1 last night and all is well with the world now. Everything works as it should. Prior config - Mac OSX 8.5, iTunes 11.1.5, and iOS 7.06 on iPhone 4S.
She had all the issues outlined in this monster thread. I updated successfully to iOS 7.1 last night, then resynced this AM, and everything is working for her config. Playlists sync, new added music sync's, no more waiting for updates.... (it shows what is sync'ing). The new sync added a bunch of the unsynced playlists and ~ 70+ unsync'd songs from her Mac to her iPhone 4S.
In our case it appears that iTunes 11.1.5 and iOS 7.1 have resolved the issues.
Good luck everyone with your specific issues.

Mar 14, 2014 3:21 PM in response to yax412by kgecklund,I recently purchased a new Macbook Pro and transferred all of my music from my old PC. While reorganizing my itunes I figured I might as well update to iOS7.1 and the newest version of itunes (11.1.15?).
What a mistake...It syncs about 700 of my 1100 songs. I thought maybe it was a new music file that was cancelling my syncs but when I look in my phone it is not syncing hundreds of songs that synced fine on my old pc before updating my phone and itunes.
It is truly ridiculous that one of the most powerful technology companies in the world has not fixed this. I use my iphone for music more than anything else. The only reason I bought a 32 GB is to store all my music. I love apply and have spent thousands on their products but when I upgrade this summer a Droid is looking better and better. I have spent hours trying to fix this to no avail and to be honest it doesnt even look like apple cares.
