Mar 23, 2014 11:49 AM in response to yax412by kgecklund,Well, I took the time yesterday to set my phone up as new device. I got all the way through the sync, was extremely excited thinking that my issue had been fixed but was wrong.
When the sync ended my "other" data on my phone jumped to over 10GB.
Im beyond frustrated, I've wasted hours trying to fix something that shouldnt be an issue. I have been syncing my music for years with no issue until these past updates.

Mar 23, 2014 5:45 PM in response to LazarusTheKingby kgecklund,I really hate to remove all my album art, I spent hours finding and adding art for my songs haha.
Thanks for the suggestion though, is there a way to bulk remove the art? I have thousands of songs.

Mar 24, 2014 3:57 AM in response to yax412by DVX100Shooter,I had a hunch the album covers may have been the cause of the issue. How do you remove the album art?
I turned sync over Wifi off and also checked the box to prevent iPhone to automatically sync when connected via USB cable. I still noticed missing songs from various playlists. I manually searched my phone for the songs and then added them back.
Everybody should take to social media and put Apple on blast about this whole sync issue. Maybe they will respond to that since they don't look at the comments being posted here.

Mar 24, 2014 5:12 AM in response to Suirsamby Luis_24,Hi,
1) Go to : Settings> Music > Turn display all music
2) After at : Settings> iTunes Store and App Store> Turn off Automatic Music downloads
3) - Now continues : Settings> General > Usage
In this step you must wait until you load all the applications you have installed , when you display the icon "Music" you click on it and useful information " music " appears to the right the number of Megabytes or Gigabytes you have.
At this point you have to delete all songs in the iPhone ( desperate problems call for desperate solutions). To do this, press the " edit " button and then the red icon. And you sure you confirm that you have deleted the app entering "Music".
Note : In my case I had to do twice the attempt to remove the music because at first the process was not performed.
4) - . Should sync your iPhone / iPod / iPad with all the songs you have.
Important note : For synchronization to be carried out properly should remove the " Auto Lock " on your device ( if you have it enabled) , this option here: Settings> General > Auto Lock
Put it to "Never" and proceeds to synchronize , otherwise it can happen to me ... what a message of " Cancelling Sync" in iTunes. So avoid that and have to start over at step 3 .

Mar 24, 2014 6:32 PM in response to Luis_24by DVX100Shooter,I have a question. When my phone is connected either by USB cable or WiFi and you go to the MUSIC tab where you can check the box to SYNC MUSIC and given some choice to sync the entire music library or selected playlists. Am I supposed to have all those boxes checked off for Playlists, Artists, Genres, and Albums? I have all but one or two in the playlists category checked off but I have none in the other categories checked off. I have it set to sync selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
I am still not understanding why certain songs that were purchased in the iTunes store isn't remaining in my playlists after a sync. In a perfect world, what I see on my computer screen in my iTunes library should look exactly the same on my phone. Its confusing the heck out of me how I could have say 50 songs in a particular playlist on my computer but when I look at my phone, its only showing say 20 songs! Where are the other 30 songs and why are they not getting sent to the phone? I still have them in my library and I have plenty of space to add them to the phone.
I have been manually adding those missing songs to my playlists on the phone. The problem I am noticing is that when connected, my phone sees my playlists on my computer and doesn't see the songs that I manually added so it removes them yet again out of my playlists. I have tried it the other way around and manually added the songs to the playlists on my computer hoping they will show up on my phone but it didn't work. That said, I have some software called PHONE VIEW. I use this mainly to save text messages in a PDF format. It also will allow me to send music from or to my iPhone too. I have used this recently to get some songs onto the phone that wouldn't import the normal way through the use of iTunes.

had the same issues as you're having, esp. w. playlists. You'll first have to clear your phone of all music from within the settings of the the phone (settings/general/than something like "usage" (mine's in german, so don't know what they call it in engl./music). Wait a bit till it shows all of your music storage. I had to erase mine twice until no mote music had been shown on the phine via iTunes and on the phone itself. Also uncheck the option to show cloud stored music which isn't currently on your phone. Then resync all you wanna sync - didn't need to sync manually for this one. But I had checked manual sync before erasing all music and unchecked it after having erased the music, after which iTunes asked, if I wanted to resync the whole library (i.e. the music I'd checked to be synced). Hitting "yes" then did it.

Things I have tried so far:
- Recreating my iTunes Library (2 times): Interestingly enough I noticed that a few of my songs, while still existing perfectly playably in my music folders, did not appear on the new library when I imported the XML sheet. Not sure if that is connect to the issue or not. Did not fix the issue.
instead of manually recreating the library try deleting it all out of itunes and then hitting the button to "scan for media". this button only shows up when ur library is empty and it will scan ur entire computer for music and add it to itunes. i dont know if this will fix ur issue for sure but it might help.

Apr 2, 2014 1:02 PM in response to yax412by rubies3,Nothing worked for me that was suggested but after a long time of checking and unchecking boxes, I checked "manage manually" under my device's tab in itunes, then i highlighted all of the songs in my library using ctrl-A. I right clicked and went to "add to playlist" and saw the name of my device on there. When I clicked it, it transferred it all to my phone.
I have no idea how I was supposd to know that or why I have had four separate problems with apple products in the last two days, but I'm just about ready to quit technology alltogether. Meet me in my desolate cabin in the woods when you're ready.

Apr 3, 2014 11:21 PM in response to yax412by bitsoflovely,I figured a way out on my phone! You simply go to the music folder, down along the bottom collum it has 'More', click into that & then click on 'Shared' & then instead of having the 'Phone' selected, select the other option, which for mine, is my computer... Helped for me (y)
