Why does my iPhone 5 automatically set the time zone for Chicago when I live in Tennessee after I updated to iOS 7?

Carrier would be Sprint. At least that's what I'm seeing here. I already contacted them. They escalated the problem to the engineering dept for them to check network configurations. I tried resetting everything, and it still does it. But only while it's on the LTE network
Yes I have sprint as well, I am going to contact them on Monday to try and figure out what is going on :(
Sprint is my carrier. I live in Nashville, central time zone so Chicago would be my time zone, however when set to automatic on LTE, I get New York set as my time zone. I have tried Reset Network Settings, and pretty much reset everything else you can reset under iPhone's settings, including a hard reset of the phone. Unfortuantely it hasn't helped. I'm going to call Sprint early next week to report the issue.
Thank goodness for google! I am having the same issues here in Nashville and sure enough only when LTE is being used. I've noticed it does not have a problem when LTE is turned off like the others are saying. Sprint has been notified next is to see what apple has to say.
I am in Texas on ATT. After updating both to iOS 7, my iPhone is in the correct time zone but my iPad 3 thinks it is in Capertino and is off two hours. Any suggestions?
Same problem, sort of. I'm in Nashville and my auto time set keeps putting me on eastern (NY). I have turned on manual set but I travel often and this won't work for me...

Same thing happening in Utah. Sprint LTE is new here so I thought it was a problem with the new signal. I guess not....
Nashville, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c, both iOS 7, both set to Eastern when LTE is on, Central when LTE is off. Called Sprint and they didn't have anything in their database, so the guy entered a ticket for me. Glad to see I'm not alone.
I live in south Kentucky and am having the same problem. I need to be in NY time zone, but it keeps putting me in Chicago time zone! So frustrating. I also have my phone with Sprint.
have the same problem...live in maryville, tn, and am showing on Central Time. I called sprint and they told me that it was an apple issue. I'm sure if i call apple, they will tell me it's a sprint issue. One thing I did read is that sprint doesnt own a lot of its towers, but rather rents space off of verizon's towers.....It would be interesting to see if any verizon customers are having the same issue. Either, way, I hope they get a fix out soon. I travel back and forth across the Eastern and Central Timezones, and need the automatic update to take place rather than having to manually change it each time.
I am also on the Sprint network in Knoxville, TN and have the same problem with my iPhone 5s and my son's iPhone 5. I called Apple support several times and they suggested toggling off/on the automatic setting or a phone reset but nothing has worked for more than a few minutes. Maybe I need to move to Chicago-ha, ha!
Just having updated to IOS7, I am having problems with the time zone too. The first evidence was that the clock face showed Cupertino time although I am in Austria (Vienna time zone). With Set Automatically on in Settings -> Date & Time I only saw the revolving wheel (possibly because the Location feature isn't working for me - it never did in IOS6). However, changing Set Automatically off immediately showed the correct Vienna time zone (and the clock face also showed the correct local time). After changing Set Automatically back to on, the rotating wheel returned again, although the clock face continued to show Vienna time.
As I said, I suspect this problem is due to the Find Location function not working for me (at home, out in the country - in Munich it does seem to find my location). I had hoped that this problem (reported here in an earlier thread) would have been sorted in IOS7.
And here's another problem: when I input an ampersand from the keyboard it doesn't appear correctly in the message but in expanded text form. I'll try again here: &&&
Settings -> privacy -> location services -> system services -> setting time zone ......... That's for those of you that's forgotten to activate it .
So has anyone been told about a fix? I've talked to sprint and all they've done is put a work ticket in??
