Start up Screen Grey/White with Black Apple

Do one more thing aftet resetting ipad

Go to setiing

Check if autolock after X minutes enabled

If so, disable it

I aldo found ipad thickens the fonts after being used for a few years

Check also if the fonts set to bold

It holds up resourceful memory

Sounds like you have your colors inverted. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility> and see if Invert Colors is set to = ON.

This is normal behaviour since iPhone 5 in combination with iOS 7: black phones start with black screen and white logo, white phones start with white screen and black logo. It is a feature.

Then why doesn't my white iPhone have a white screen and black apple?

Use three fingers double touch the screen > Choose Filter > None !
