Sep 25, 2013 8:47 PM in response to MiataMike1by sudiptamaitra,Lets admit it. Apple screwed up big time on this one.

Sep 25, 2013 9:03 PM in response to MiataMike1by TheeCPA,I posted the same thing. The I synced my iPhone and iPad and the software recognized that they were home videos and saved them as such and it shows the names. Just resync and it should work.

Sep 25, 2013 9:49 PM in response to TheeCPAby MiataMike1,Yes, this works but then to see half my movies I have to tape the "Movies" button and to see the other half I have to tap the "Home Videos" button. I am not sure why I am being forced to segregate my iTunes movies from my other movies. To me, they are all movies.

Sep 28, 2013 9:02 PM in response to MiataMike1by MiataMike1,I just upgraded my iPhone. The re-sync did not work in terms of recognizing a movie as a "Home Video" and reclassifying it, I had to delete the movie off of my iPhone and recopy the one with artwork out there. I probably could have changed the movie
On the plus side, the iPhone was upgraded to 7.0.2 and the problem with missing artwork when viewing a Home Sharing library seems to be fixed on that device.

Sep 28, 2013 9:12 PM in response to MiataMike1by Vancouver22,They found out people were actually reading the images and there was no longer a reason to list titles.

I'm having difficulty locating The Amazing Spider-Man movie

Sep 29, 2013 8:44 PM in response to MiataMike1by MiataMike1,Update on my 7.0.2 upgrade. I logged out of home sharing and logged back in and now home sharing shows all the artwork. So the Home Sharing issue about lost artwork is solved.
However, for people who actually have Home Videos, without artwork that they access over Home Sharing, they still don't have a caption to identify the file's name, so those people are still SOL with the IOS7 elimination of captions for 'Movies' and for 'Home Sharing'.
I guess the solution is to just buy all your movies through iTunes ... including your own personal home videos.

Using spotlight to search for specific titles would solve that problem. Such a silly thing for Apple to get wrong but everyone does make mistakes. The real test is how quickly they fix it and apologize.

Oct 6, 2013 11:30 PM in response to MiataMike1by Commando Cody,Since we can normally see the artwork for movies (whether from iTunes or other sources), this is not a terrible problem. But let me tell you, when it comes to transferring iTunes "Extras" it is especially annoying since any individual video file available from extras does not have its own artwork. So let's say you've transferred "Deleted Scenes" from "E.T.". Sure, you could cut and paste the artwork from the movie itself, but since the title doesn't transfer over (even if you've right clicked on the movie and entered it in on the "INFO" page under "GET INFO"),
you have to select the movie (on the iPad) in order to know the title. And if there are numerous video files involved it's a real pain in the neck! I think a bit of reverse engineering here would help!

Oct 7, 2013 3:00 PM in response to MiataMike1by Geelong Cat,Just chiming in to say I've found this to be a very frustrating problem as well. I have 20 American History lectures on my ipod; all of them now show with the exact same title screen, so the only way to distinguish between them is to open up the movie itself! Such a silly oversight. I can't be bothered to go in and change the movie type, so I'm just hoping there's a fix round the corner.

Oct 7, 2013 6:38 PM in response to Vancouver22by Vancouver22,Spotlight searches for my videos just fine
Go to settings in spotlight search to select which items you wish to include, check off videos.
Clearly, I was joking about amazing Spider-Man. The cover is Spider-Man in his Red costume and is always the first one I can see because it starts with the letter 'A'. I know the big ape face is planet of the apes and so on.
My music videos all have titles.
If your videos only have gray thumbnails, you can delete them and add again while connected to the computer.
That has done it for me before.

Oct 7, 2013 7:08 PM in response to MiataMike1by rtataryn,I have to give my 2 cents. This is a major hassle. This was supposed to be an upgrade with iOS 7? APPLE, ARE YOU LISTENING! I have hundreds of movies and load a dozen or so at a time on my iPad for airline flights etc. I need to see the names of these movies on my iPad. Why do the Home Videos get names, but Movies don't? Are we supposed to tap each movie to find out what it is? Like I have the time to attach artwork to hundreds of movies. Give me a break. FIX THIS!!!!

Oct 7, 2013 7:13 PM in response to rtatarynby Glenn00,Maddening, isn't it. The only reasonable solution for you at the moment, is to go to iTunes, and put into a playlist all the movies you want to import onto your iPad. Then, change each movie to a "Home Movie". I know this is a pain - and you shouldn't have to do it at all. But at least there is a solution that should take you less than 2 minutes for a dozen or so movies.

Oct 7, 2013 7:18 PM in response to MiataMike1by Glenn00,And while you are at it Apple - it's completely unnecessary to view movies as "icons" of the artwork. This puts fewer movies on a single screen and requires more screen swipes to go from screen to screen. You need to include an option to view videos as a "list" - maybe even a 2 collumn list for iPads. This way we could view 3 or 4 times as many movies titles on a single screen. But at a bare minimum - PLEASE put the movie name beneath the icon. PLEASE . . . . . .
