Q: no airdrop/airplay on iphone 4s w/ iOS 7

Do you have airdrop or airplay enabled on your mac, apple tv etc. ?

You need an iphone 5 or newer for airdrop. The iPhone 4s doesn't support airdrop.

How did you resolve this issue? I have the same problem with no airplay icon in control center on my 4s with ios 7

On the home screen, swipe up from the botton of the screen, I found on my phone (4s) it worked every time when I swiped up from the home button.

On the screen that appears is the Airplay icon,among other things, select that and it will give you a choice of an Airplay device to select.

Swipe down again from the arrow on that screen to close that screen.

The support link says you need iPhone 4s or later... so why isn't it working for my 4s?

AirDrop on iOS devices only works with other iOS devices.

It does not stream anything, it allows the other device to download items.

Ya that doesn't work. Both of those icons are missing. I'm wondering if somehow my 4s got the 4 update incorrectly as the 4 update doesn't have the icons either.

Hi there :) I have an iPhone 4S and have airplay on the phone but no airdrop icon... It's connected to my Apple TV. The only way I got it to work was to unplug my wireless router and then re-plug it. I am now able to mirror everything on my iPhone 4S with my TV. I still haven't figured out the airdrop icon. Hope this helps.

Under iOS 7:  It seems that iPhone 4S does not have AirDrop, but it does have AirPlay.  Turn your phone off completely and then back on from cold.  Make sure you are connected to the same local network that your AppleTV or other AirPlay output device is connected and then AirPlay should show up on the phone.  AirDrop does not show up on the iPhone 4S.  It does show up on the 5 right next to the AirPlay on the control panel when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen.  If you have no AirPlay devices on the same network you may not get the AirPlay option.  This is true for iOS 6.  Also, if you have several radios (networks) in the area your routers may prevent the phone from seeing the AppleTV or similar output device.  Make sure you get both on the same radio for best results.
