mine crashes too after update
Mine also.
I've tried all this steps. Unfortunately none of them
helped.
Yer, it looks like Google vs Apple again. Who is to blame? Hopefully I can stop using my English / Italian dictionary soon. An update is needed. Or someone cleaver can help us.
translate.google.com is the web-based version of the app.
use this until they get around to updating the app.
Mine does not work as well. I deleted the App and re-installed with the same result - zilch.
George
Mine worked until I gave permission for it to use my mic. After that the app will not open.
I complained to Google. I went to their site and I looked at the help section. They had a survey so I stated this information was not useful or complete. I stated that they needed to add information on how to fix the crashing of this app since the update to ISO7.
WORK AROUND to problem.
I manually went to google.com and to the webpage of google translate.
I then added that page to my iPhone desktop as a shortcut.
So at least I have the ability to translation.
:) The problem solved! The app updated!
thank u apple now i can used google translate after updated google t
You can solve this problem through the App Store, Just access App Sotre on your iPhone and click "Open" in google translation app, So your google app will be updated, So you don't need to delete the google app, I have done same and it is working very nice, I wish it could be helpfull for you^-^
Disaster of disasters! It crashes the web-based google translate, in safari ios7 on an ipad. I never use the ap,because it is so inferior to the web based version. I have been using it every day almost all day long, so this is a big deal.
The web based version of google translate will not work on a ipad in safari ios7..at all.
This upgrade seems not to have been very ipad centric. I must have web-based google translate, and they killed it.
Same problem! After updating to IOS7, I am unable to use the web-based Google Translate. Whenever I attempt to open the site, Safari crashes. This is a real problem for me, because I also find the Google Translate app to be an inferior substitute for the website.
There is a problem with Safari in IOS 7 that is easy to reproduce. As soon as a javascript needs more than 5Mb for internal data storage it hits a virtual wall and crashes. Apple should know about it (I reported a bug). Many other webdevelopers must have ran into it (I assume this is why Google changed their image search back to a very basic interface).
