iPhone 5 keeps freezing after ios 7 update!

Pretty much same problem here. After update to ios 7 my iphone 5 usually locks up after it's been asleep for more than a few minutes and I have to reset it. This is happening very frequently - I must have reset my phone 20 times in the last day. FYI if I turn off screen lock and leave it plugged it, usually seems okay. I have gotten a few multi-second hitches while operating it too....

Same thing for me, Restarted, rebooted and restored so many time and in less than 3 seconds si freeze again, I tried resotoring as a new phone, from icloud backup and from itunes backup and nothing seems to work... I really need to have my phone working!

I have had the same problem. I updated my iphone 5 today with IOS 7 and it now freezes. I cannot turn the iphone off by swiping. I have to press the on off button several times, it goes off then when it comes back on again there is a rectangular line around the menus. It will not swipe off nor will it allow me to move to any screens. It is frozen. I connected it to Itunes on my Imac and tried to reinstall but Itunes wants me to turn off Find My Iphone on my Iphone but my Iphone wont let me in.

I complained earlier today about the visibility problems on IOS 7. It is the worst upgrade that I have seen. It is really hard to read and I notice that many are complaining

I wish I could revert back to IOS 6 where I could see all menus and icons easily.

Is there anyone that can help and can I revert back to Iphone 6 until all the bugs are ironed out? Or do I have to wait until Apple do an upgrade and in the meantime use an Samsung that works???

I have been an Apple fan for many years but certainly disappointed this time around

I have a similar problem. Ever since iOS7 update, when unlocking my phone via numeric passcode, the phone will freeze occasionally requiring a hard reboot. Very frustrating.

I'm having a similar problem. My iPhone 5 never would freeze before, but since I updated to iOS 7, it freezes about 1-2 times a day.

For me, it always freezes on the lock screen, while I slide to unlock. Usually before I enter my code. The screen freezes, goes black, then my iPhone doesn't respond to any buttons being pressed. The only way to fix it is to for me to restart my iPhone, by pressing and holding the two buttons for about ten seconds.

I have been trying to slide to unlock fairly slowly, which I think might help it not to freeze. It seems more likely to freeze when I slide to unlock super fast.

I love the new iOS 7 otherwise, so I hope this is fixed soon!

I've had the same problems. Spent all afternoon yesterday getting 6.1.4 back on iPhone 5. A visit Apple shop in Birmingham this morning and they put iOS7 back on only for the phone to start freezing again. Now iTunes won't let me Download back to 6.1.4. My love affair with Apple is being truely tested!!!

I also have had a couple of freezes when entering my passcode on the unlock screen (iPhone 5). The only solution was to force quit by holding the two buttons. Interestingly, Siri could be activated by pressing the home button alone. She would answer but the lock screen remained frozen.

Same thing here. When my iPhone 5 freezes on the lock screen, I can access Siri as well. The screen remains frozen, but Siri answers and thinks it's displaying info.

Another thing, I noticed that if I don't bother to restart my iPhone, eventually it restarts on its own after like 5-10 minutes.

I just downloaded a non-apple firmware from the web.

The guys in the Apple store Birmingham yesterday put it back into ios7 and we're sure it would be fine, but it wasn't!!

Spent all afternoon trying to get a version of 6.1.4 back on the phone but none of them work now! Starting to get completely hacked off with it all!

I have the same problem and it is mighty annoying! in addition to a questionable UI - it is not possible to use. It is frozen most of the time and constantly reboots. I have tried everything and to add insult to injury - Apple prevents downgrading to iOS 6.1.4 now!

After 3 days of trying to sort this problem out myself (view previous posts) and losing the will to live, I took a trip to the Genius Bar at the Apple store in Basingstoke this afternoon. After running through the events of the last 3 days they replaced my iPhone straight away and updated with ios7. Now I have a new iPhone 5 with ios7 working great.

If you have tried restoring in normal mode, factory mode and DFU mode with no luck then get down your local Apple store and get the iPhone replaced.

My love affair with Apple continues!!

I ended up contact Verizon, who put me on with Apple tech support. After various troubleshooting efforts, numerous restores, etc, they are sending me a new phone. I'd strongly suggest visiting an Apple store, or calling Apple, or you cell provider.

Same problem for me. Ugh, if it's not fixed I'll have to bring it in.
