    SAME PROBLEM! It's been 2 days! I can't use my Iphone 5. Every or every second time I open an app the phone freezes. It Freezes after 5-10mins, if not being used! I can't go back to iOS6. I CANT USE MY PHONE! FIX THIS!

    Restart it. If it doesn't work, get on your computer and back up everything, then reset your phone. It happened to my sister and she was flipping out haha (: it will be fine as long as you back up your stuff so you don't lose whatever it is you have!

    B4 Updating I backed it up. After updating I noticed the freezing issues, restored it from backup, restored it in DFU mode to factory settings... NOTHING HELPS! I made an appointment with a local Apple store for tomorow. I'll make a fallow-up post with the results. I use this phone for work, this is extremely frustrating!

    Exactly same thing here...

    You can even hear the Siri sound.

    Already tried all "solutions", like turning off Alphanumeric password, documents on iCloud,etc...


    On Diagnostics you can see the Kernel Panic messages...


    No solution yet...

    I just can't believe people are getting their phones replaced for what is obviously a software glitch.  But then again, it's pretty obvious we must be a minority of iPhone 5 users....  What is the deal anyway with the warranty?  My phone is over a year old so will they still replace it free of charge?


    Yesterday I backed my phone up on iTunes and did a "restore".  Did not help either.  Sure would be nice for Apple to say "yes there is a problem with the 5 and yes we are going to fix it in 7.0.1 which is coming out next week".

    I was starting to think that it was something specificaly wrong with my iphone 4, but i can see here that i´m not the only one having these issues. Did the "upgrade" on saturday, have no iphone since then. Yes its extremely frustrating, I try not to think about that but it´s a bit hard, specially when you substitute it with a nokia...have to check the model here...3200. And please forget about the reset advice, it´s useless. Done it several times, as well as a full new install/restore. Even tried the downgrade, it worked on thursday but on saturday Apple wasn´t permitting it anymore. It would be nice to have a fix for this and have my iphone back.

    It's not just the iPhone 5 that has a problem, it's the 4 & 4s too. If you can wait up to 2 weeks for a fix that's fine but I needed my phone working for work etc. I tried all the restores (recovery & DFU) with no joy. Had a replacement iPhone within 5 minutes at Genius Bar in store.

    When is Apple going to get their act together and  release an urgent update to fix this rediculous iOS 7 bugs ?

    They should stop using their customers as a BETA testers !

    Apple  have been practicing this approach since every new Apple device and every new operating system major upgrade has been introduced.

    Even back in Macintosh days in the 90's  they used customers as beta testers - "Let's just  release a Buggy- Beta software Today  - and Fix it Later " !?

    The replacement phone came with iOS 6. Assistance asked if I wanted iOS 7 upgrade. I said "yes if it works properly!"

    After the update I connected to iCloud in the store and everything worked really smoothly.

    Just wanted to chime in and say this is happening to me, too. It happened twice today. Once the phone would not wake from sleep and the Power button did nothing. The second time I was getting in an incoming call and it froze on Slide to Answer and I ended up having to do a Reset.


    I may try to do a Restore, but I won't have a chance until tomorrow night at the earliest. This is pretty disappointing.

    So Apple gave me a new Iphone 5, my trust in Apple is restored! They told me that the processor was causing fatal errors and it can not be fixed. They suspect that the new OS update was causing it to Kernel Panic. Going back to iOS 6 woun't fix the phone they said.

    Well, that's three or four times today for me.  I have a Genius appointment tomorrrow.  I'll try a restore tonight to see if it will help.


    My diagnostics screen has panic.plist files listed.  Anyone have any more information?

    I have a Genius appointment for later today.  In an effort to be thorough, and because I figured they would suggest/demand a restore before hardware would be replaced, I conducted a resore last night.  I am currently testing it to see if this resolves the issue.  I will keep you posted.
