I am having the exact same problem. When I connect to iTunes after about 5 minutes of the iPhone being frayed out "syncing" and inaccessible (very annoying) I get an error that says "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."

When I hit okay it begins syncing even though I changed my phone to iCloud backup to avoid this. It's all extremely laggy and iTunes generally freezes during this period. Just froze again as I typed this, completely unable to add music from iTunes to my iPhone 5.

I got the same issue with my iphone 5 and I have tried all the usual fixes. I have done a factory restore via iTunes still the same, I have done a DFU (Download Firmware Update) mode restore still same issue. I have restored the phone and opted to setup as a new phone as not to install any of my data or apps just incase it was something there and still the same issue.

I have now successfully restored the phone back to IOS 6.1.4 and the phone is working fine with all my apps and data restored. Anyone got a solution to this yet ?

To restore my 5 to 6.1.4 I did the following

Download correct firmware for your phone from this site http://www.icj.me/ios/all#iPhone52 make shore it is signed, there is a green tick in the column Apple signing status to show this.

Connect your phone to your computer load up iTunes, make shore you turn of any auto syncing. On Mac press alt on PC press shift and while holding down the key click on Restore iPhone. This will allow you to select the file you downloaded earlier. When the process is complete you will be up and running on the older software, you can now restore your settings from a backup as normal.
