Q: Multiple permission differences in 11.1
I like it whwn Disk Utility shows a clean slate, I feel all is well with the world.
On downloading and installing the latest iTunes the Disk Utility window shows masses of permission differences too many to even attempt to count.
Running repair permissions shows them all as "repaired" but they appear again, apparently unscathed, on "verifying".
I cannot help but wonder what is causing this, I am running the latest OS X .
I live in Ireland, are there features in this new version that are not allowed here?

There are a lot of 'errors' that appear in Disk Utility because it hasn't been updated to allow for some changes made to the System some time back. As long as when it's finished it says 'Permissions repair complete' then everything is fine and you can just ignore the 'errors'.
If you really want more details, this Apple Tech Note lists 'errors' you can safely ignore (there are well over 100 of them):

I do wish they'd update Disk Utility - this issue keeps panicking people and it's been going on for several years now.
