Sep 20, 2013 11:33 AM in response to MichelXby PugetSounder,I totally agree with MichelX. I bought an iPad 2 in 2011 and I have really liked every release of iOS, except this one. While there are many improvents to the functionality of the system, the adoption of stark white interfaces for system apps is aweful. Also, the removal of the docking bar (is that the correct term?) at the bottom in favour of a flat rectangle is just plain ugly. And, before, the Apple apologists decide to go on the attack against anywone who criticizes their beloved company, consider that there are folks out there that need colour and dimension to their electronic devices to use them properly in order to protect the quality of their eyesight. Apple doesn't allow for such customizations to my knowledge.
I really liked my iPad when I first purchased it. However, I'm seriously considering purchasing an Android tablet to replace it. Also, since OS X Mavericks looks to copy the look of iOS 7, it may be time to replace my Macbook pro with an HP computer. No, I'm not a Microsoft fan. However, I did have more control over aesthetics with that system than with iOS or OS X.
In closing, I would like to say I would like to remain a Mac customer. Apple needs to seriously consider ALL of it's customers, not just the fan people, if they want to stay on top and engender good will in the user community. This can certainly be possible if they would abandon the growing Microsoft-style arrogance they have appear to have adopted in relation to customer complaints.

Sep 20, 2013 12:18 PM in response to momberoseby momberose,So the email I got when my last post was deleted said I was giving possibly bad advice and should try reverting my own phone before I posted.. ;).
I am not trying to skirt the rules...there are many things I seriously liked about the new iOS.... it is unusable for me and I have/had a need to get back to a usable version for me.
Note: Apple prefers you do not downgrade. There many good reasons for this and if up you plan on keeping your device you may want to stick with the new iOS if it is not making your phone unusable, as it is in my case.
I will leave my iPad on iOS 7 to see how the new iOS progresses, though I will personally go back to using my laptop more since the reason for reverting my phone has not changed and I cannot utilize my iPad for the lengths of time I once did due to, paraphrasing how some one put it, the permanent flashlight on look. I will cross my fingers that my iPad has not become a permanent $700 paperweight or a die hard Apple fan will be able to purchase it as at a discount.
FYI...I am not anti-Apple...I own well over $2000 in devices...but there is a reason they are losing market share.

Sep 20, 2013 12:44 PM in response to viperman17by mcollins026,I agree. The new look is ugly and cheap looking. Sure wish I could go back. Yes, I should have done more investigating, but I've always been happy with previous updates, so I just trusted this one, too. I learned my lesson. Still looking for this feedback link, though, so I can leave appropriate feedback on the issue - not that they are probably listening.

Sep 20, 2013 1:37 PM in response to viperman17by yofromto,Seriously? there is no way to go back to iOS 6? Couldn't they have told us that before downloading this horrible iOS 7!

Sep 20, 2013 2:46 PM in response to lkruppby Lovemenot,Actually I never got a choice if I wanted it or not. Apple took it upon themselves to download it. I can't even change my phone to samsung till next April due to my contract. Which is a huge shame for me as I have never had an issue with apple and was considering getting the iPhone 5. Very disappointed with apple and my battery doesn't last 2 hours since the IOS 7 was downloaded and that is without even having my phone on. I think they should put a downgrade as a update as they will lose lots of customers.

Sep 20, 2013 3:19 PM in response to viperman17by dmoore724,Cheap looking update. If you are going to take over my phone aesthetics then you can have it back. The fonts are way too thin. This looks like google phone. Seriously?

Sep 20, 2013 3:35 PM in response to MacMiniSuby jmimac351,The Moto X is definitely a device to look at. It has lock screen notifications, very good battery life, and it is a cleaner version of Android. For those who say, "yeah but I don't want a big 4.7" screen"... well look at the Droid Mini - the one-handed version.
Each version of Android gets better and more seamless. Another version 'KitKat' is coming in October and the competition (iOS 7) has made a huge blunder.

I don't think any version of Android looks as bad as iOS 7. In fact, I'd suggest that the latest Android looks more like an "iPhone" than the current iPhone (iOS 7) does. It's remarkable what is happening.

Sep 20, 2013 3:39 PM in response to KC7GNMby dmoore724,Ever heard of the New Coke? Make enough changes that you don't recognize yourself...they won't walk away..they will run. I have been with apple since the IIe. I am waiting for them to fix this one. Way too much white space. The phone is so bright a night it is tiring to the eyes. Not to mention it is the worst thing you can do for night vision. Marketing mistake. Elderly can't read the apps and they look like a kinder garden game. If I get annoyed enough using this update I will be changing phones. Hopefully this will be a lesson to learn from the mistakes.

Sep 20, 2013 3:39 PM in response to momberoseby momberose,Moderator....please delete the entirety of my last posting...it is preferable over how you edited. Don't worry I won't post again ....you might though consider that I posted facts and did nothing against the code of the forum.
This forum is a joke anyway it is a bunch of phone geeks bullying a unsuspecting audience.
You can feel free to remove my access to the community too...

Again apple comes out with a crapy IOS, I'm just glad I didn't update my IPad. (Emphasis mine)
So by your standards the original iPhone OS, and subsequent updates (2.0,3.0.4.0 5 and 6) have all been crappy. Yes, as lkrupp has asked, why are you still an Apple customer? You love to pracitice self-flagellation?

That has always been the case ever since the very first iPhone. So you were "told" in 2007.
