I have just updated my ipad to iOS7. My ipad is now useless. I'm going to put it in drawer for 2 weeks, and use PC instead. I'm going to return it to Apple if they will not fix it.

Animations are terrible. Apps are crashing, Keyboard has lag as ****. Design is as 10 year old drawing.

Hmm, actually you won't be returning it.  You're past your return time, by a long shot.  But feel free to sell it on ebay or craigslist.

The new interface is causing ripples in the eyes and looks devoid of harmony. The text content and cursor merges on screen and intersects with interface elements — text buttons. In Russian new interface is terrible: text boxes and buttons are aligned incorrectly, the unequal size of type in the same type of text buttons (for example, "Call Back" and "Cancel" or "Reject" and "Answer"). White background color is not perceived as a neutral background — it irritates the eyes! With the new calendar is impossible work — it causes a feeling of chaos. Ultra-bright color palette, larger radii rounding of icons and circles resemble the design of the gadget for children in kindergarten. The loss in productivity and, in particular, in the smoothness of the animation (e.g. scrolling texts). It's not all shortcomings...

The only good new feature in iOS 7 — is a control center. But the possession of useful new features of iOS 7 does not outweigh the reluctance to use such interface.

After realizing the impossibility of rolling back I feel a sense of loss. In the IOS 6, I always was surprised how nice everything is beautiful and thought over to trifles, and in the IOS 7, I wonder how things got worse.

Bring back access to the neat classic Apple-interface — this, which has been in iOS 6!

    "Hi irishelf,

Of all of the issues that people have been reporting about iOS 7 (most of them NOT issues - just ceaseless whining), the issue for vision impaired folks seems to me to be the most legitimate and most ciritical of them.

Yes, the valid issues with Activiation and Wifi are also right up there, but the vision impaired issues renders the phone unusable in every possible way.

I'm hoping that this is being looked at and remedied in short order....

I, personally am not vision impaired, but I sympathize with those folks who are....

    Cheers,

    GB"

    Thank you, Gail from Maine.

At this point, I feel that my short time here has been spent with some purpose.

I have enjoyed Apple products since the Apple II. I have used both PC's and Apple products daily for many years. At this very moment, I have a PC and an iMac parked in front of me. I use the PC for work - due to software availability - but the very moment that I am able to switch, I use my Apple products. I have always found Apple to offer a more pleasing user interface, a more beautiful interface. PC's have always struck me as the more dorky option available.

I was horrified to find out that reading the screen on my iPhone was very difficult once the new operating system was installed. I came here to this forum to find out how to uninstall the unusable update. After reading a few pages, I could see that uninstalling iOS7 was hopeless. Quickly, I was forced to consider an Android phone (the screen of which BTW I can read), but found myself resisting leaving the family of Apple. Ultimately, it dawned on me to trade the neighbor kid for his 3GS.

I appreciate that you have considered an alternate point of view. Some have mentioned that it would be impossible to know whether or not Steve Jobs would have approved of this iOS7; however, this perspective seems short-sighted. Steve Jobs was vision impaired. I think it is safe to say that, not being able to clearly read iOS7, Jobs would have read someone in the marketing department the riot act.

In any event, thanks again. I know that many here feel that many of us should leave our feedback and commentary elsewhere, but this little forum seems to me to be a viable place on the internet for concerned parties to express their views.

    Best regards,

    Meganuts

Apple support claims it's because the 4s doesn't run IOS7 as well as newer models. They said to watch for an IOS update.

The iPhone 4 & 4S meet the minimum requirements for iOS 7.  Which means it will run on the device.

However, as with pretty much all computers, a newer, faster processor will run the software better.

    It's all relative.

Pretty much everything you mention is bogus or false. Get your eyes checked.

    You are most welcome, meganuts!

Just seems like people crabbing about not liking the colors is a bit trivial compared to not being able to see anything well enough to be able to use the device at all....

I like all of the new features of iOS 7, and don't really have any issues with the new design....it's a device. If it does the things I need it to do, I'm not going to go all postal because of the asethetics.

Geeeez - I've been fighting Windows and Internet Explorer on my work PC for the past week - waiting for, literally, minutes at a time for my Folders to display, having to reboot because one or the other is so hung up the PC is completely dead.

Being able to walk away from my desk, and go to my Mac or iPhone, or iPad is such a relief....

If I was not able to see what was on one of them well enough to be able to use it, that would have a truely negative effect on my personal productivity and enjoyment. So, again, I think of all the issues that have come up over this past week and 1/2, the negative imapct for visually impaired folks is the most urgent...

    Just my opinion....

    Cheers,

Not exactly. The software will work on the older devices as indicated, it will NOT work well though. There is a difference that only those who have been burned by updating when they have an older device.  The new software does not work better on newer devices, it works as it should with the iPhone 5S.  That's why I stopped completely updating any of my apps.

Until this iOS and more importantly this thread, I've always laughed at Android users who speak of the "iCult" and similar phrases. I now see what they mean, there are a group of people for which Apple can do no wrong and they defend the company as vehemently as a deeply held religion, their iGod.

It's a phone, not a lifestyle choice. I don't have time to follow Apple around the Internet and keep tabs on every bad idea they have, this iPhone and iOS release has deeply shaken my faith in the company's ability to make good decisions with future releases. I guess I have no choice but to spend more time keeping tabs or find another OS. Luckily I'm off contract so I can buy anything I want and get the new phone discount. When iOS 6 stops being useable due to lack of App support, if they still haven't fixed iOS 7, I will be changing phones, simple as that.

Yes.  How do I uninstall this application?  It was a disasterous mistake to download it.  Apple, please tell us how to revert to the old software.  You missed the mark on the IOS7 upgrade.  It's no way as good as its predecessor.  You rarely screw up, but in this case - NO BUENO!  Please take us back.

Beware of writing critics about apple products in this forum. Moderators here will call you a troll and delete your post. We are not allowed to express our views about ios7.

This is more bias, unlike this forum, which i feel like it's being run by a communist.

Thanks. I went into settings, general, accessibility and inverted colors. Helped a bit.
