(The 3GS sports a wonderfully legible calendar, calculator, phone keypad and keyboard. No eye strain, either.)
Meganuts loves him some Apple!

Oct 10, 2013 6:06 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby Lee-Anne1,That's great about your battery. That wasn't my experience at all. I'm currently on iOS 6 and with 10% battery left, my usage stats are 9 hrs 20 minutes and standby 2 days 10 hours. (I got a replacement device that came with iOS 6 and well- I'm keeping it for now.)I never had a problem with my iPhone 5 until the iOS 7. The battery issue was real. My family is dealing with that. They all charge once a day. I hope that gets fixed soon. I turned off almost all of the features that really made the iPhone an iPhone.
I want to upgrade but I don't like that calendar at all. I look at the calendar by month and you can see the days as well. That, along with battery drainage and, in my case, the phone just crashing and kicking me out of applications, was the reason for my replacement device.
What's your secret concerning the battery? I'd be interested in passing that on to my family.

Oct 10, 2013 6:22 AM in response to coppertrailby Cre8tve1,Replying to Coppertrail's: It's about standardization. If they gave customers an option to revert back, they'd be dealing with numerous different versions of their iOS. Can't blame them in that regard.
Sure I can blame them. I still use MSWord 97 because I can easily create all my own menus, which the newer versions prohibit.
Also, I chose XP-Pro as the operating system for all of my PC computers, which work just fine, unlike the newer versions such as Windows 7 etc.
Customers should be given the option to choose what works best for them, otherwise it is Draconian, repressive and totalitarian. Customers can vote with their $$$.
The only reason I have an Apple product is Facetime, and having iOS7 foist upon the customers with no recourse encourages me to wait for an equivalent PC version.
Most likely, since Apple prohibits anything remotely like free speech, this posting will not appear.

Oct 10, 2013 6:26 AM in response to King cosyby Cre8tve1,Yes, they should tell us up front. What Apple also does not tell people is that any product going in for repairs is automatically formatted with the new iOS7 system. They do not ask permission because that unit does not really belong to you. You only paid to use it.

Oct 10, 2013 6:31 AM in response to Droppingby Cre8tve1,When you talked about Steve Jobs, you hit the nail on the head. I suspect the iOS7 was instigated to show a break from Jobs and to usher in the 'new boss' who, in many ways, is worse than the 'old boss'.

Oct 10, 2013 6:52 AM in response to Mark D Larsenby Cre8tve1,Sounds like you spoke to the same corporate drones who also stated that "...any Apple product brought in for repair will automatically have the new iOS7 installed..."
Guess no one at Apple ever read, How to Make Friends and Influence People. maybe there is reason why the Take Unfair Advantage chapter was editied out before printing.

Oct 10, 2013 7:02 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby irishelf67,I hate to break it to you, but ios 7 is LESS functional than ios 6. People who are not visually impaired should not need to turn on visual accessibility options to use their device! And I am going to repeat what I and other visually impaired people have stated and the Apple trolls keep ignoring-even with all visual accessibility options on, WE CAN'T READ THE STUPID SCREEN! In other words, ios 7 makes Apple devices USELESS to those with visual impairments. Some of the tweaks may be great, but since we can no longer use our devices, WE HAVE NO WAY TO USE THEM! When Steve Jobs was in charge, all operating systems (as well as itunes) worked great for the visually impaired. Since he's been gone, Apple software has become LESS accesible to the visually impaired. And leaving feedback does nothing. Many visually impaired people complained about the previous itunes update being almost impossible for visually impaired people to read and Apple made no improvements!
