Oct 22, 2013 6:28 PM in response to irishelf67by modular747,Nonsense. EVERY Apple store in existence has displayed ALL iOS devices with iOS 7 installled since it was released. Corporate policy.
Maybe if you had paid any attention (if that matters to you at all), you might be aware of the current discussion about a post by BTW which whined about the "cartoon" like icons, which caused him pain. Thie icons were all shown on the Apple web site, larger than they appear on the phone, for 3 months before release. There is no need to use the phone to see what the icons are like.

Ignorance of consumer purchasing behavior makes your impotent bluster just appear as arrogance.
Assuming that every consumer would research and evaluate wheter or not they liked IOS 7 before upgrading is just plain head-in-the-sand stupidity. As a Fortune 50 company, Apple has the brainpower to know that.
To dumb it down for you, I'd say that many of the dogs don't like the dog food. I don't expect you to understand the deeper reference.

Oct 22, 2013 7:17 PM in response to flexmarketmanby modular747,The grotesquely ignorant bluster is that you have the remotest clue what the dogs like and don't like, and that your agenda is even faintly significant to Apple.
In fact Apple did, as they always have done, considerable consumer research regarding iOS 7. Your self delusion that they didn't is pathetic.

Oct 22, 2013 7:37 PM in response to modular747by GryphonLA,YAY!!!! It's not a day until Modular747 starts foaming at the mouth as he belittles someone else for doing the same thing he does!! God Bless the Apple Tea Party Leaders!!
And searching the thread reveals NO word for word responses as you so vehemently insist, Mod. So better warm up the alts you use for points and post post post away so the next time you regurgiatate this there will be somethign to show !!!! lol
It's ok Mod, we still like you, lol.

In looking this over, BTW wasn't blaming Apple and didn't ask you for your opinion,
No one has ever asked your opinion about anyting here, yet that hasn't stopped you from butting in with utterly useless comments. When BTW said iOS 7 "changed my iPad to iPain". what do you think he meant by that? (Rhetorical question - no one is interested in what you think about anyting).
should probably dial it down about slamming flibbertygibbit responding to your obviously passive-aggressive comment.
Hmm, you clearly have no clue what "passive-aggressive" actually means. Possibly you're regurgitating without comprehension something you've heard said around you, quite frequently.
(yes, yes I know, everyone you've ever met in the history of the Universe loves iOS7, everyone's here's stupid and useless, blah blah blah...)
More reading comprehension issues, eh? What I said was I did't know anyone who considered icon design to be disturbing or more than trivial enough to be a real issue. Probably a distinction beyond your capacity to comprehend
And please provide links to other posts in the forum that demonstrate the "word for word" responses that support your vapid conspiracy theories.
Just reading through this thread will reveal many, I wan't talking to you and have no reason to prove anthing to yet another profoundly useless Mr. Zero.

Oct 22, 2013 9:41 PM in response to modular747by BTW55,Wow, this has become a heated discussion!
I am not stupid or ignorant and I do take responsibility for my actions. I am dealing with the regret of allowing ios7 to change my iPad to a device I no longer enjoy using. No I am not blaming Apple for the decision I chose to made. But I do hold them responsible for their poor decisions. There is a saying in the southern states..."if it ain't broke don't fix it".
I don't spend my days reading articles about the latest software innovations. I don't own an iPhone so I was not aware of the details of this upgrade. I did hear several iPhone users talk about how they didn't like the changes to their iPhone but had no idea it was related. The only indication I had was the alert on my settings to upgrade for the last few weeks. When I read the upgrade info, in settings, there were a few notes mentioning bug fixes, but no other details to indicate the extent of changes, so I upgraded. Had no further indication that this very useful device would be changed to something that I now dread using. I did coin the phrase iPain and iStrain, trying to find some humor in the situation because the stark white screen causes such a strain on my eyes it becomes painful.
I noticed that my original thread was removed, very interesting....... This reminds me of the politics in our country, they can say or do what they want but if you voice your opinion then you are wrong.
I appreciate those of you who understood my frustration in the changes to my ipad and commented in my support. (That still confounds me that I am forced to accept and keep these changes on a device I paid for and own...... Or do they still own it????)
To those of you who questioned my intelligence, no I am not connected to anyone's liver! No one has to speak for me, I think I did that very well in the heat of frustration of my original post.
My dad, who owned his own business for 60 years always taught us that the "customer is always right" and " don't bite the hand that feeds you". Don't think that Apple is in agreement with that philosophy. Evidentally because my feelings and opinions don't count and they don't need my money.
I will cease with my comments, have to rest my eyes!

Oct 22, 2013 10:20 PM in response to BTW55by GryphonLA,Very classy and well-reasoned response, BTW55. You're a welcome addition to this thread. I've held off on upgrading for some of the reasons you stated and was finally able to get the pending update (not installed) off my devices.
If you download the iOS7.0.3 update that came out today, can you let us know if it addresses any of your concerns? I'm fairly certain it won't change the iconography or UI, but do know that it's adding additional control over the motion settings and animations. If that makes it smoother and easier to use, please share that with us. I know I will most likely update, but want to hold off until it's my choice, not someone elses. Like you said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Oct 22, 2013 10:31 PM in response to GryphonLAby BTW55,Thank you for you kind words.
Another upgrade! I don't think I will chance that! I haven't recovered from this last one. I envy you that you had the knowledge to not upgrade. I have learned a hard lesson, Apple calls the shots.

Oct 22, 2013 10:41 PM in response to viperman17by Romplestiliskin,If you google news for how to downgrade from iOS 7 from the author Simon Hill from Digital Trends, you will get an article that poorly explains what needs to be done. If you catch the first sentence or two, you will see what you should've done a long time ago to be able to downgrade. Once again, I am not impressed with the author. It shows you how poorly trained journalists are becoming. Also, comments criticising the writer for the most part are all deleted. In any event, it's pretty much impossible to downgrade. A lot of the apps that do not require jailbreaking your iPhone won't work for 6.1.4.

Oct 22, 2013 10:41 PM in response to viperman17by Maquiladora,I'm adding my voice to the chorus of concern... I've always been a loyal Apple customer — we had a Classic II, LC3 and Quadra at my house when I was a kid, then I purchased my own iMac, Pismo, Titanium, iPod, iPod touch, iPod nano, iPhone 3G, iMac, Apple TV, iPad 3, iPhone 5 — and now iOS 7 is so bad I'll probably switch company as soon as I can. I'm pretty sure Apple won't listen, but I'd like to go back to iOS 6 too...
By the way if I have AppleCare+ and my iPhone 5 breaks, does my replacement come with iOS 6?
Thank you,
Frederic G.

Oct 22, 2013 10:43 PM in response to Maquiladoraby Romplestiliskin,no, you will get ios 7, whether you like it or not.
besides, you are pretty much forced to upgrade unless you don't use your iPhone over wifi. With 7.0.3, it's even more harder to prevent it from downloading the 2 GB update file. that's why I had to update mine. it's not like i wanted to.
