Apple chooses not to let customer go back to IOS 6 becuase  they're afraid of the number of people and iPhone 5S customers will not have the option unless they upgrade IOS6 to support the new hardware.

Nonesense. Apple is continuing a practice they've had since the first iPhone. Not supporting downgrading is nothing new.

And that's your right.  Exercise it, please.

As a shareholder, I do NOT want the company bowing to pressure from uninformed and ignorant consumers that fail to understand the legal agreements they signed or the technological ramifications of a downgrade.

Wow...talk about a nasty, condesending, spiteful, malicious, and unempathetic comment. Most people fail to read in it's entirety any document in front of them they sign, whether it's an employment, security contract, or even cell phone contact. Just because something is in writing and you unknowingly agreed may be legal, it certainly doesn't necessarily make it ethical or moral. If you would've reworded your comment and only mentioned that it is common or customary not being able to downgrade with devices, you wouldn't come off as nothing more than hateful troll trying to provoke more attacks and attention to yourself.

I haven't met anyone who expressed dislike, but yes some were lukewarm. My wife for example who is a very visually oriented person looked at it and said "Oh, they changed some stuff." and she was immediately on to whatever task she needed to do.

i dislike ios 7; however, i do NOT hate it. in any event, you might want to expand who you're speaking with. i know many who dislike it, i also know a few who do like, mostly those working in the Apple Store

I think the 15-20 different people I deal with every day who have iPhones is more than enough, thank you. And none of the people who like it work in Apple Stores. The 92 year old man is an accountant.

Do you work for Apple?  There are many many issues with IOS 7 and its not just cosmetic. We can live with cosmetic issues but functional problems are major. If you want a full list, be happy to provide.  I've personally submitted many tickets.  I'm sure with enough time most will be resolved, but is it necessary to put users in this position?

No, I don't work for Apple, I just got lucky enough to watch the original presentation and was able to decide early on I wouldn't upgrade.  For me, the reason was the look and feel.  But since I didn't update, I can't speak to the glitches you're dealing with.  I was just mentioning that I liked a lot of the things they previewed in June, even though the UI and iconography overrode everything else.  Sorry if it came across as anything different.

Personally, i do feel they rushed the launch to meet a deadline and some users are suffering for it, but with 7.0.3, Apple has shown that they do take feedback and commentary into account (maybe not directly from here), and that the more dire things can be addressed.

Sorry, Meg.  I just assumed from the responses from some (I bet you know who ) that the high-level users were moderators.  My fault for assuming.  Thanks for the clarification.

Mark me down as amazed at how ugly iOS 7 is. Gaudy, trendy, goofy. I wish I could name one thing I like about it, but....there really isn't.

No worries. It's a common misapprehension. The Hosts are rarely seen except occasionally in the Using Apple Suuport Communities Forum. They have purple apple avatars.

A thread like this gets a lot of different kinds of posts from people with lots of different agendas. This kind usually takes a fairly thick skin an ability to not take things to personally.

    Best of luck.

There's hope!! At least, for those who have complaints about the UI. In 7.0.3:

    • Enhances the Reduce Motion setting to minimize both motion and animation
    • Updates the Bold Text setting to also change dial pad text

I can confirm that there is now no fly-in animation (delay) on the home screen when Reduce Animation is on. There is a tiny fade-in animation but at least the icons aren't moving around.

A lot of people can't read the fine print!  I still don't get how someone could be so stupid to make an ios that is so unreadable.  And while I still do not like Windows, at least that operating system allows the user to set contrast and in the older versions, font type.  It is quite obvious that ios 7 was NOT beta tested with visually impaired users, as many of the readability issues probably wouldn't exist if they had.  What kind of idiot thinks it is easy to read a thin grey font on a bright white background!? Ugh!  That is as stupid as the people who decided to put the expiration date on their peanut butter in black print on a dark brown cap!  I really was considering buying a new ipad next year (mostly because the one I bought is more than 2 years old and really doesn't have enough memory for me), but I won't because I can't read anything in ios 7.  I wonder if the delay in releasing Mavericks is because of all the complaints about ios 7.

Have you looked at iOS 7's accessibility features? And if yes, have you tried them?

The fonts are no smaller than in iOS 1 - 6, though somewhat grayer.  Most users are smart enough to fix this by:

    1. Settings > General > Text Size >

    2. Settings > General > Accessibility > Bold Text > ON

Making the text larger and fatter is just a work-around when the problem is the color.
