This is private property; free speech does not apply. You want free speech, go and buy some billboard space.

Don't get me wrong; I agree with you about the awful aesthetics of IOS7. But rants that are destined to be deleted by the hosts just irritate all of us who receive the email notifications.

For a while after iOS was perpetrated, it was possible to roll back in a way that Apple could support, but that is no longer true. If there is a way to roll back, it is a non-Apple way that Apple wouldn't be able to support, because they wouldn't know how it was done. If they deleted the posts, it was probablly to protect users like you and me who are ordinary mortals and would just get in over our heads. Geeks can figure out how to do it with or without deleted posts, and they would knowingly and knowledgeablly take the consequences on themselves, so there is only gain and no loss in deleting them. Meanwhile, fill out the feed back form. Most often companies look at the quantity of complaints, not the validity of them. I don't think Apple needs a lot of valid complaints to make a change, but it's a good idea not to make an assumption.

Thanks, Kenneth Collins, ... a most welcome and helpful calm response to my distress... Your comment felt a relief after just being insulted for 'ranting' .... basically, I was really upset and didn't know who to ask for help and advice rather than you lot here. I'm sorry if I caused offence to others - I'm a music geek, not a tech geek, and I felt overwhelmed, confused, helpless and frustrated by the situation I found myself in.  Thanks for the explanation...

Yes, there are a lot of "uglier" and "cheaper" looking apps now with the iOS 7 upgrade. Don't get me wrong, some apps now look wonderful, such as the Weather App, but others, such as Notes (especially Notes!), Messages, Phone, and others are awful! I think it's probably an even 50-50 split between the "good" and the "bad." Or maybe, it might be more accurate to say, 33-33-34: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

I think he's referring to the Beta version -- so no, that's not a lie.

False.  Apple did not approve downgrading from the beta (and I doubt he was approved as a beta tester).  In fact, registered developers were warned before receiving the beta, that they could not downgrade to any earlier iOS.  Anyone doing so had to use unauthorized hacking.   More bovine excrement...

There never has been any version of the iOS, released or beta, that had an Apple approved downgrade method.

So, a single Apple employee, who does not represent the company, and is not guaranteed to be an expert in all things Apple, tells you something, and then it's gospel?

And yet, millions of iPhone 4 & 4S users are running iOS 7 with no problems whatsoever.

Tell me, what troubleshooting steps have you taken on your device to attempt to resolve the issue?

Why are so many here so nasty to each other? You are supposed to be the ones who draw users in, not stomp on their heads.

Dudes, get a handle on it.

No not a single apple employee I went the store + I know someone who works for them who pretty much told me the same thing. Don't take my word for it obviously but a quick google and you'll see umpteen more posts and even news reports that state it was designed for the newer processor and memory. As for what I have done everything that can be turned off is off deleted all non used apps etc and new!!! Phoned it 3 times now and still *****. I think it's quite funny the advice you get is to turn everything off basically turning your phone to an old school brick and still ***** battery etc it almost proves that something working overtime using much needed battery life , even a text uses 4% I give up !!!

This happened to me with iPod 4g on iOS 6. I still can use it but I had to turn everything I could off, keep closing apps so only one is running at a time and it's still extremely slow and feels really bad. I was told by apple something must be wrong with it and they had me reinstall the operating system like 3 times. I even took it to the apple store where they reinstalled iOS 6 and it ran just as slow. While in the apple store I tried one of the iPod 4Gs running iOS 6 and they were just as bad. So I came to the conclusion that iOS 6 is just too much for the iPod 4G and should never have been offered as an upgrade for it. On iOS 5 I never had slow problems, could run games smooth that will not even load in iOS 6, and I never had to restart it or close apps. I would have loved to have an apple supported rollback method back to iOS 5.

Well, the kick in the pants for me is that now I'm stuck with the choice of moving to iOS 7 (which I'd prefer not to) so I have access to the iWork apps which I've ALREADY purchased, or stay on iOS 6 (which I'd prefer) but not have that access (which is BIZARRE, as I can now share those documents with anyone with Microsoft Office, but not to myself on my Apple devices)

    Rational.

This is exactly the kind of garbage we all should keep in mind when we read that iOS 7 has been downloaded 200,000,000 times. Yeah, bc we're not given a choice.

Give us a choice of iOS to run iWork or

Give us a choice of UI for iOS 7

neither of those are irrational requests.

(yes, I've sent this in to feedback)

iWork's/iLife iOS 6 apps still work it's just that they will not open documents created in the latest version of the version of the apps only available on iOS 7. But yeah, it is a problem if your like me who used icloud to work on documents between devices, some which will not run iOS 7 and therefore the latest version of iOS iWork/iLife apps.
