Dec 3, 2013 4:33 PM in response to Maithriby jonfromdaleville,To be honest, I'm not sure which one does, but I will clarify one point of your post.
Maithri wrote:
I mean, Samsung copied iOS so faithfully, the transition shouldn't be that difficult, right?
Android copied some stuff from Apple, Apple copied some stuff from Android and both copied features from jailbroken software.

Dec 3, 2013 5:59 PM in response to visualtimeby modular747,The comparison with Windows 8 was merely to point out how things got from an ok UI (the one that does the job) to a UI simplified to the point that has become annoying and hard to use.
Actually the changed operations are much easier and more efficient than iOS 1-6. Annoying only to those with significant learning curve challenges.
And there is another resemblance - and actual phyiscal one - the nonsensical flat UI aspect which was actually a great thing in 1987 or so.
You need to educate yourself about the difference between one dimensional and flat design. Just look at the iOS 7 home screen, vs 1987 DOS... Not at all the same. The pseudo 3d and skeuomorphic designs have been annoying, inefficient, and growing ugly for some time.
Based on the number of people who have voiced their discontentment, it's pretty clear that the latest iteration of IOS doesn't stand out as one of Apple's greatest moments.
Insignificant and inconsequential numbers. Apple is doing better with iOS 7 than it has for 2 years.

Dec 3, 2013 8:15 PM in response to Maithriby 70SuperNova,The latest update includes features that return some functionality. Contrasting on fonts, larger fonts, no parallax scrolling in the background, and finally background application multitasking can be disabled.
An issue that remains is some heating during games.
Overall it still reminds me of tropical punch skittles.
I doubt Steve would approve but maybe I can tolerate. Apple still has the best products save for game consoles.

Dec 4, 2013 11:34 AM in response to modular747by visualtime,The 3D designs were actually great. All these tiny, flat icons, low contrast and non-existent buttons denote someone who loves Photoshop but has no clue about usability and user experience. The great Iphone's hardware and IOS have been rendered mediocre at best by its UI.
I understand you have a very limited understanding of technology, however you may want to read an IOS7 usability evaluation done by professionals:

When you say: "Apple is doing better with iOS 7 than it has for 2 years" - do you realize that IOS can not be removed and people have no choice? So the high number of the IOS downloads you are hinting to are actually meaningless since the upgrades can't be reverted.
Apple has managed to make people who loved it to start hating it.
I hope Tim Cook will do the right thing and fix this blunder. Until then my Iphone goes back to the store. End of the story.

Dec 4, 2013 1:11 PM in response to visualtimeby hot_spur,It may be the end of story for you, but I'm sure Tim Cook disagrees with you, as I and many users do. And no one cares whether you return your phone.

Original post has been answered, we are stuck with ios7, can not go back to the ios6 we liked better or worse.
I don't like ios7 as many of us have stated, but have to deal with it.
And now comes the sarcastic comments if I don't like it buy another phone....

Actually they improve usability to all but a small subset of visually and cognitively challenged individuals.
"Tiny"? There has been no change in icon size whatsoever.

You have no clue what my level of technical knowledge is as your's is undetectable. That "professional" evaluation was done by a consulting firm (Nielson Norman Group) which has Samsung and Microsoft (not Apple) as clients.

That "evaluation" of iOS 7 is no more than a paid for marketing hack. Did they write the scripts for your posts as well?
do you realize that IOS can not be removed and people have no choice?
Maybe if you read any of this 3 month thread, you might realize that is the entire topic of this 147 page waste of bandwidth.
"No choice"? Who put the .357 Magnum to your head and made you update?
Apple has managed to make people who loved it to start hating it.
None of any significance to them, and have made a lot more like them who didn't before
Until then my Iphone goes back to the store. End of the story.
THANK YOU!!!!!

Dec 4, 2013 2:54 PM in response to modular747by marysplacestudio,If you folks think iOS 7 is buck ugly, you should see how the apps are starting to take on the "new look". It's like a Fisher Price toy convention. Apple... Redefining the future—and the word "tacky".
Bleh.

And you are not biased? It's people like you who give Apple a bad name ... shame on you.
iOS7 is not well designed. Period. If you think it is then you are clueless.

There is nothing remotely similar between iOS 7 and Win 8 - not the colors. fonts, icons, tiles, anything at all. No one who has ever seen both would confuse them for a nanosecond, let alone think iOS 7 is a "replica."
There is a similarity ... if you can't see it then you are not qualified to make comments.
